The Nottingham-born winger has opted to join an as yet unnamed European outfit.

He’s been icing with Nottingham at EIHL level since 11/12 and has amassed 417 Elite League appearances with the club.

At this rate, it'll be a big fight to get British players on board at clubs, we've lost a couple now to European teams.

Since we're constantly told we're not a development league, is it time now to drop the charade and lift the import limit?

If that happens, come the World Championship next year & we're picking players from Telford etc & folk will soon complain.

Shame I didn't win that £187m I'd soon plough some money into our sport.

Betteridge is a big loss, both to Panthers and to the league. Finding top quality Brits is fast becoming a big priority.

I'd say the Devils have a solid start recruiting, though I was very disappointed last season when we lost out on Waller. He'd have been a great replacement for Jono, when he finally hangs his skates.

Also quite surprised that Haywood has gone to Leeds, guess that's a career move?
