Steelers Win! 3-2.

Another 2 points on the board and making headway on Cardiff tonight.

I think that's Cardiff out of it.

Two horse race as far as I'm concerned, with the 5 games between us and Belfast probably deciding it.

My review of tonight's game would just be the same as most of our recent games. This game was slightly better because there was a fair bit of needle.
The refs had a mare.
We continue to go through the motions for 50-55 minutes of games. There is no reason why we can't play as we did for the 5 minutes (with a greater intensity and speed) after they got their second for longer periods of games.

We keep on getting W's and putting points on the board

I thought Clan showed a lot more skill on the puck than Storm last night. Vallerand makes a huge difference to our team. The puck is avoiding Dowdy because it knows of the record . Pucks are like that.
The referees were clueless. They gave Clan a penalty for knocking a goal net off when it was already off its moorings and missed as many penalties as they called wrong ones !
Can't have been easy for the Clan with little warm up after a horrible bus journey .
I thought Rok played well , he only gets one game in 2 ( as does Barry ) so it must be tricky for both of them regarding staying in the groove,
. Never seen a better colour clash than pink shirts and orange gloves!
Hope Vivian Westwood wasn't in the arena , it would give her ideas !
Will be harder to get the same result in Glasgow on Wednesday.

I think Clan are a very modest, average workman like team playing 1980's style hockey. Clutch and grab, hack and whack, dump the puck in hockey. They have serious quality issues if Yellow Horn is their first line centre.

Didn't see this game, but watched the Storm game on Saturday, which I was very much underwhelmed.

My concern is that we have played average sides for quite a while now and I include Nottingham in that. I just hope we are able to step it up for when the Cardiff and Belfast games come around, because playing well for 10 minutes will not be anywhere near enough.

Another good win against a gritty defensive minded team that are hard to play against and pull away from.

Thought Hodgman deserved MOTM, really drove us on at times when the game was slowing and the Clan grew in confidence, deserved his goal and great to see the goals starting to flow for him. Thought Jones deserved his goal as well as he's been excellent for us recently. And the Rok lived up to his name when we needed him most.

Sointu the provider for our first 2 goals also came up big when needed.

Good to see others starting to score, obviously Vally is going to score most nights if not every one - Dowd seems to be unlucky with bounces at the moment, Eberle has started to score again after his return. Latal, Armstrong and Dowd all to score on Wednesday would be ideal to get the whole forward core firing.

Clan's tactic as has been discussed on here and elsewhere was to defend and disrupt our game. Sol spent most of his night talking to Vallerand after whistles (to no avail) and there was plenty of missed calls mostly hooks and holds, however, the Clan were also on the receiving end with the delay of game (for removing the net) penalty, which never should have been. Roy seemed to be trying to get under our skin as well, he jabbed with his stick a few times and was involved with the constant scuffling which seemed to be on going all night - where has the fighting gone???? A huge scrap at center ice would've sorted most of the handbags out early on. I understand fighting isn't necessary all the time but if there was ever a game that needed it, this was the one. Polak v Yellow Horn again was another shocking missed call with the multiple cross checks after the faceoff.

After all that another 4 point weekend and our home run continues - Sunday (Devils) will be a huge game, hopefully another home win with a good atmosphere to build up for next Wednesday's semi final.
