Can someone explain to me why the play wasn't whistled dead the instant his helmet hit the ice and then the goal disallowed? As it clearly was shot into the net when Green was trying to grab back his helmet?

The IIHF rulebook is different than the NHL one then.

Seems that if opposition has control of the puck/scoring opportunity play is not whistled dead, unbelievable that this would allow a shot at an unprotected netminder.

It was an immediate scoring chance for Storm so a good goal according to the rules.

Not disputing it was called according the IIHF rulebook, I'm saying that it is a ridiculous and unsafe difference from the NHL rule.

@Jayboy was asking what the rule was. So I’ve just linked the rule book.

I’ve no issues with the goal at all and that’s before I knew what the rule was.

I did worry that this might be another Coventry, but the team quickly dispelled that.

Job done and we're seriously in this, but I just can't see where Belfast slip up, despite my belief Sheffield and Nottingham are the best two teams.
