Netminding aside (and yes he’s been awful again) aside it’s been a very toothless performance. Defence paper thin, breakout poor and our zone entry has been embarrassing frankly, haven’t seen a player attack the blue line once. Serious changes needed soon or forget about competing for the league

Saw this result coming.
Hope we give Warburton a chance tomorrow cause frankly this new guy just ain’t up to scratch.

Gonna pray Greener will be back and fit sooner rather than later otherwise we can kiss our league title defence hopes goodbye.

New goalie is Swiss cheese there’s no doubt about that but is greener really that good that he covers up the issues from today? Panthers were not good in the slightest today and we looked like we were only there as bodies to practice against. I know someone said about roster sizes and changes being limited but if there isn’t changes soon we’re can kiss goodbye to challenging for the league

Result

Steelers 2-4 Panthers so they improve to a 1 in 22 strike rate.

Against my better judgment I decided to get the webcast, mainly because I wanted to see our new goalie.

After a decent 1st period where we probably deserved more goals, we were very poor indeed. Sloppy passing and very little passion shown. Not sure we can blame the new goalie, even though he would probably want one of the goals back. We didn’t deserve anything from this game and at times made the Panthers look like Stanley Cup winners.

Fox has a huge job on here to turn this around. If I’m not mistaken we had one more skater than the Panthers had, so can’t really blame a short bench. I can’t say that was an exciting or enjoyable game to watch.

Heads look down and some of our premier players, like Tansey, Cormier and Juusola are either playing injured or are severely lacking in confidence.

On a final note, I hope the lady that needed medical treatment is ok.

The new goalie was probably to blame for one goal, but he's not why we lost the game.

Even at the end of the 1st I said to my mates I was concerned. We had more of the play in the Nottingham zone, but they gave us very little time or space.

In the 2nd and 3rd periods when we didn't have powerplay time, they took advantage of the space they had in front of our goal, whilst we were always on the outside.

Make no mistake, the better team won tonight. We look a shadow of the championship winning team.

Regards

Game On

Last season everything fell into place, this season we have been hit with the injury curse [one reason i dont care for chl ] but thats another discussion. Its a case of more than just the new goalie, if foxy hadnt tried another oversea goalie we would of moaned. He has and up to now it hasnt paid off. So at this stage i personally would be happy for curtis to start, he trains with the team day in /out. And if we lose at least one of the brits has been getting experience. We also dont see behind the scenes as to who is injured etc , so we dont get the full story. But what is obvious is we cant let cardiff get too many points on us. Lots of scenarios need to fall into place to be consistent for a full season.

I find it bemusing the netminders take all the flack.. Will list these players who week in week out domestically have been mediocre. Cormier, Diffley, Ciampini, balmas and watling. Decent period here, a better game there, but overall very meh.
