As a player Andre was everything a great deal of fans wanted to see back in the Viper days, but Andre as a person had some big issues I can't and won't go into, only to say they were not nice and mostly self inflicted, I met him and some poeple he had had a personal Connection with on several occasions when he was at the Steedogs and he spoke well about hockey but was on occasion very nice to me, but one one other accession very different person.
I feel for his close friends and family and wish them well and hope he has found piece from his often (but not always) demons. A very complicated man.. A player I had often whish played for us especially back in the early 04/06 seasons, but honestly later came to understand it was best he never did..
Sorry to be a bit negative, I do however offer true felt condolences to his family R. I. P

No it's not, he wasn't one of our players and giving him a tribute as such sets presidence in future for other non Steelers players, also some of his transgressions from his colourful past would possibly embarrass the club afterwards if he had such a public show of acceptance, if they were later to be published!Spoony wrote:Well that's stupidNathan wrote:Well I asked but it would seem not.

Sorry Nathen, I do get where you're coming from and the end of the season tributes should very much include him in them. But I would not feel comfortable giving him a minute silence at the arena for more than one reason, I presume the Steeldaogs will at their next home game.. And that's entirely fair...Nathan wrote:Merely from the Sheffield connection Jay, that's all I was thinking.Jayboy wrote: ↑Fri Sep 30, 2022 10:08 pmNo it's not, he wasn't one of our players and giving him a tribute as such sets presidence in future for other non Steelers players, also some of his transgressions from his colourful past would possibly embarrass the club afterwards if he had such a public show of acceptance, if they were later to be published!Spoony wrote:Well that's stupidNathan wrote:Screenshot_20220930-134027_Twitter.jpg
