It's a full schedule of league games, in add to the regular schedule.

Make it fun, exciting and above all entertaining, so all who attend get a chance of watching their team compete over the full weekend.

Just to confirm my idea would be to have 2 teams from each team = 20 teams in total, 2 groups who play each other in a league structure , with the top 8 playing off in a knockout through to the final game.

3v3 with a rolling clock.
Teams could have 9/10 players (3 lines)

Just an idea!
Would teams & players risk getting injured before the proper season for that though? At least with league points on offer it means something, titles have been so close in the last seasons.

So what is the point? Is it to be able to watch other games you normally wouldn't want to watch? I don't get it Image

we are a million percent playing Nottingham. both clubs are so obsessed with playing each other 403 times a season
If the league is collecting the monies, there is no financial benefit to Nottingham to play us.

It's to make up for the massive loss of league revenue (some of which us distributed to clubs). They're just trying to get something competetive.

If there's no replacement. Expect the budgets league-wide to plummet along with the quality of Hockey.

Each club receives a cut of it in the playoffs. The league take less than half is my understanding.

We have sought a refund, mainly because we can’t see the season up and running by September. This virus has a long way to go before we get back to any normality and some say it’s likely to hit a second wave in the autumn, so we can’t see concerts and sport with large crowds happening this side of Christmas.

Small clubs would be bankrupt hiring and flying in players only to see the season fail to start or be suspended in October. I think we are unlikely to see much sport before 2021 and I don’t expect to see Elite League hockey until 2021/22.... sadly.

Sorry it’s this kind of negativity that’s making people feel worse than they already are. How can you possibly know? Many experts on twitter are suggesting we are now at the people and by mid June/July we could start to see events and concerts booked in again. I suggest looking for more positivity then following and looking for the doom and gloom merchants.

On a side note, I’ve not been following this magic weekend closely and wondered if anyone can help. There’s a group of us that want to attend this and have POFW tickets. Can these tickets be used for this weekend or do we have to be refunded and buy the tickets again?

We have tried hard to remain positive throughout this difficult time but have decided to request a refund for our playoff week-end tickets. To be honest the Magic 5 week-end did not seem that appealing but we were willing to give it a chance although we really didn't know how it was going to work out.

We have still gone ahead with buying our Season Tickets, but like others we don't really feel that confident about getting all our players in to the UK by August. I really hope we do as we are really missing the hockey and seeing all our family and friends at the matches.
