Wonder what the attendance will be for the futile exercise aka the 3rd place play off game?

There’s an interesting comment on the Cardiff forum. Apparently Steelers and Panther fans are not 100% hockey fans as they didn’t buy tickets for the playoffs because their team didn’t make it. However he writes from home as he’s not prepared to pay the inflated prices and the quality of hockey has dropped
I am I missing something here? His team made it to the final!!

I’m going to guess that there’s probably more Steelers fans than Cardiff fans there and we’ve not even made the weekend! Mind boggles with this one. There wouldn’t be a league at all without Steelers and Panthers fans.

Take a wild guess who the owners and influential bodies at EIHL towers come cap in hand to when they realise they've got no funds again because of yet another monumental cock up orchestrated by themselves. Yet we will have the same sycophants spouting the inane BS to anyone that will listen that it wasn't their fault and they didn't foresee Steelers and Panthers bombing out of the POFW
Quite frankly it's pathetic.

I also have to add (and this won't make me popular) all those that did choose to buy tickets and attend this weekend, were closer to the problem than they were the solution. sometimes you have to stick up for your principles and not just silently mouth off your annoyance while still shelling out for a rip off event you say wasn't worth the price.. Ask yourselves why it goes up year after year.. while the product gets worse every time.. :stink:

You could argue the opposite point of view. As a true hockey fan who strongly believes it is a family sport and should be open to all, we didn't go to send a message that this kind of pricing is unacceptable.

For the matches today, I think we'd rather watch the 3rd vs 4th as neutrals, than the final where we want both teams to lose 😋

It seems that some Devils fans would rather have a dig at Steelers than praise their own team. The Devil's did really well to reach the final and they should be recognising that.

All your names will be going in the Steelers little black book of negative people and you will not be wanted in the arena next season, well to be correct YOU will not be wanted but your money is welcome of course. If there is information out there that could inform the reasoning behind the price point and lack of concessions then fair enough but the chances of any EIHL fan or even just a Steelers fan being officially "informed" about anything are remote, after all just look at who is supposed to be doing the informing.

A couple of points concern me. That the fans will be the ones expected to fill the gap in revenue because of this misjudgement and the other is the wall that is being put up between a large section of the fanbase and management ...example the treatment of many volunteers this season , anyone even mildly critical of the official line has been dropped and then often ridiculed on social media. In Orwellian terms they become an unperson, removed from the records, their name will never be mentioned again.

This wall prevents them from understanding what the fans will accept, the uproar over prices and concessions, the streaming debacle etc should have been easily foreseen but the management are isolated from anyone who is willing to speak truth to power. What has happened with the attendance at the playoffs is squarely at the feet of those who live in their own echo chamber listening to no one except themselves.

I totally agree, that's not the opposite point of veiw at all, I strongly believe the same things, especially that it's a family sport that's open to all. Who can afford to pay £120 a ticket per child? POFW would have cost me £720! For the tickets alone, it's just cost me less that that for all of us un a waterfront apartment for a week Inc travel there and back... Inc the stadium tour of Annfield...
