For me a coach can only be judged after they have left the club, so it’s too early to judge AF. If the next three seasons bring 3 grand slams people will forget about this season. If on the other hand we have 3 trophy less seasons, (which I don’t think will happen), he will be judged accordingly.

i am thinking if you had seen him coach and especially play it maybe would be.. His first shift/game he ever played for still gives me goosebumps now..thinking about it.
I think he leveled 3 players and went back on the bench after his first shift and got animated with the entire bench and he and Neil Abel were bright red by the end of the first period with the amount of interaction and adrenalin from coaching and playing the first period, the fans gave the team a standing ovation off the ice... We knew we had someone special that night..

You would have really enjoyed watching his team; very much played your sort of hockey.
Gutted I missed that season, sounds like a missed a really good one. Would it be fair to say he was a better coach than Fox? Difficult to judge I guess when he was only here for the season?raetiamann wrote: ↑Thu Apr 28, 2022 8:16 amYou would have really enjoyed watching his team; very much played your sort of hockey.
The story of him levelling 3 players on his first shift is certainly up my street haha.
Mike Blaisdel hockey in the ISL days is the greatest hockey I have ever seen though. Even under the Norton Lea era when he put a team together in two weeks, it was more entertaining to watch than it is now for me personally.
I would double check those poll results though @Jayboy Paul Thompson doesn't appear to have many votes?

- I would personally say was and certainly is a better coach than Fox, I like Fox a lot actually but Ben Simon is on a different level for me, played and coached proper in yer face Steelers hockey.
- 10 votes more than he should have...
