Perhaps they need something like this to rein them in a little, make them realise the game is about the fans, not the clubs and to stop treating them like the bank of mum and dad. No concessions , price increases, surely they cannot have thought they would still sell out ?.

This is hardly surprising as Steeler and Panther fans will potential have less on costs such as accommodation and extensive travel.
It will more than likely be those same fans that will rally at the last minute should their teams get through.
Either way it shows a total lack of understanding of what families and individuals are facing with rising costs and significant pressure on their pockets.
This is what’s left today. Blocks 1 & 2 not on sale.

I'd suggest that's a lot more than 3,000 still available.EllieB wrote: ↑Fri Apr 15, 2022 8:13 pmThis is what’s left today. Blocks 1 & 2 not on sale.

At best it looks like 50% sold, but probably less than that.
We've decided we're only going to buy tickets now If Steelers make it through.
If Steelers don't make it we're still going to Nottingham, but we'll find a pub showing the games.
£120 is too much to pay to watch other teams.

A major boo boo by the league, haven't they seen that the cost of living is up? What they dont seem to appreciate is that it's not tickets but it's your accommodation, petrol to get into Nottingham, food, drinks, it all adds up, especially if you're a family of 3,4,5.
I can imagine folk ordering 1 months subscription of Premier Sports & getting in the crates of beer to watch at home.

There is a potential financial embarrassment to the EIHL if ticket sales are poor, given the controversy over ticket pricing and concessions overseen by the EIHL Chairman who also happens to be the Steelers owner I'd like to think I could look forward to reading an in depth investigation into the circumstances and why certain decisions were made. I won't hold my breath however, the local media have long since turned a blind eye in this direction.

No Steelers, no Panthers at the finals, extortionate pricing, economic problems for most households, many fans at a point when they are paying for next years season tickets. This looks like a perfect storm for the EIHL.
