The price hike does seem to be way too high to me. Now if this is down to the EIHL, the arena owners or the ticket suppliers wanting extra fees for their services I don’t know. What I do know is, if it’s a sell out, why should they consider reducing the price in the future? I’m sorry to say that the only way these prices will not remain the same and probably increase again next year is for people not to go. I know people who go regularly to the playoff weekend have missed it during the pandemic. I just hope someone is not using those fans enthusiasm to make a few quid.

Well tickets have gone on sale today for some clubs and still no explanation or even comment from the EIHL as to why there are no concessions and why the huge increase. It would appear that children/ disabled/seniors etc are being priced out in order to accommodate those without families who go to have a great drinking weekend. Ironically this is the culture that the Steelers were trying to discourage a few weeks ago. If you want to go to early hockey games followed by a night out in Nottingham then it is the perfect (but very pricey) weekend away.

Interesting to see a tweet from Panthers fan tweeting Premier Sports about a commercial license with a venue for fans to watch the games. Great idea if they can pull it off!

As with many things it is possible for the hockey fanbase ( not just Sheffield ) to have a massive impact, just as they did when the support poured in to help clubs during lockdown. In this case they can signal their disapproval with their decision whether or not to buy tickets for the event and also in a smaller way by boycotting discretionary spending, stop buying 50/50 tickets / raffles / SOYB etc and by making it known that they are taking this action because of this decision, sponsors can consider withdrawing their support or indicating they will not renew next year, it doesn't take a lot of organising, individual fanbases can address their own club but the league wide effect could be massive. This is a bad decision and it is noticeable that there is no real effort by the league to defend or explain it, once again the Elite League has failed massively in its public relations side, it's hard to think of an equivalent sport that makes as many mistakes as this one does. Without the support of fans there will be no elite league, It's really up to you as fans to decide whether you want to be exploited or not.

Sport, not team. As a team the Steelers play at the top level of it's sport, Wednesday erm... well don't.

I read on Twitter that the Nottingham Arena sold only 900 tickets in total yesterday.

None of us are coming from Guildford. My sister and her husband refuse to pay adult prices for the kids and as a result myself and the wife won’t be going either.

All the people I know here are saying the same thing. I sadly think the arena will be half full.

Well according to our Club's website a 1,000 tickets have been sold already, so I would imagine the officials at our club who live in a special bubble think there will be no issues in selling out the building.

And if it is half empty, will they even acknowledge their mistake and apologise or will they have their various social media cyber goons attack those who highlighted the horendous pricing policy and discrimination? Or basically claim it was a huge success and vindicate their own policies..
