Hope our final D man has abit of size to him, other Ellerby is out there on his own keeping the D clear, the Yann Suave rumour would be ideal

Steelers do indeed add veteran 38 year old Canadian netminder Barry Brust.

https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/10646/barry-brust

The 225lb 6”2” nettie is vastly experienced and fills plenty of net.

He was a 3rd Rd pick of the Minnesota Wild in 2002.

He’s played 11 NHL games for the Los Angeles Kings.

245 AHL games for the Manchester Monarchs, Houston Aeros, Binghamton Senators & Abbotsford Heat.

His European career involved German DEL hockey with Straubing Tigers.

185 KHL appearances for Medveščak Zagreb, Yugra-Khanty Mansiysk, Slovan Bratislava Kunlun Red Star & Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod.

Also in the Swiss NL with HC Fribourg Gottéron.

& in the Slovakian Extraliga with Slovan Bratislava again.

I thought he was a decent skater and passer, not necessarily physical enough or very strong defensively. Will do ok if paired with a big strong defensive d man.
Him and Beaudry were similar, said would take one but not both for this season but preferred Beaudry.
I'm a bit 50/50 from the limited view I've had of him.

Also announced is the returning D man Kevin Schulze.

https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/1 ... in-schulze

Although not somebody I’d have been interested in retaining, he is a typical Fox signing, small, smooth skating & speedy.

The 28 year old American is undersized at 5”10, but did bag 14 points (2+12) in 15 Elite Series appearances for us.

His previous career includes 126 ECHL games for the Wheeling Nailers.

Also 13 AHL appearences for the WBS Penguins.

In Europe, he’s played in the Swedish Allsvenskan for Västerviks IK & Leksands IF.

Also in the German DEL with the Nürnberg Ice Tigers.

Brust should be a very good signing if he can get close to his previous form.

Schulze I thought started very well in the Elite series, but became less impressive as it went on.

Fox has had the benefit of watching him at close quarters very recently, so obviously he likes something........That will do for me.

I like a goalie that has a slight screw loose as well, it all adds to the fun and when he is a stud too its win win... E:p
