I'd like to see some toughness from 1 of the remaining D slots, along with a couple puck moving Dmen.

Someone in the mould of Steve Munn wouldn't go a miss for me.

I'd like to see more toughness throughout the whole team, but I think those days have gone now.

Although I was impressed with ASD's toughness and I don't think Sam Jones is shy either.

I think there’s still a role for the Mark Louis, Leigh Salters, Colt King type players that can play, but can also throw em down if they wanted

I do think the days of fighting to spark the team have gone though. I think we’ll see most fights heat of the moment/reactionary.

I’m hoping one of the D men is a Mark Louis or Fitzy type of player. Can’t see it though. Knowing foxy All three will probably be 5ft 10” offensive D men haha.

Steelers add experienced 6”5” ex NHL defenceman Keaton Ellerby.

The 32 year old Canadian was the 1st Rd 10th overall pick of the Florida Panthers in 2007.

He’s played 218 NHL games for the Florida Panthers, Los Angeles Kings & Winnipeg Jets.

198 AHL games with the Rochester Americans & St John’s Ice Caps.

In Europe he’s played for Kazakstani KHL outfit Barys Astana.

In the Swiss NLA with HC Fribourg-Gottéron.

In Finnish Liiga with Lukko Rauma.

In the Swedish SHL with Mora IK.

In the German DEL with Iserlohn Roosters.

In the EBEL (now ICEHL) with Austrian side Dornbirner EC.

& most recently he iced with Justin Hodgman in the Erste Liga with Hungarian side Ferencvárosi TC.

I thought that but he is listed as retired on elite prospects, which he wasn’t when the rumour started doing the rounds so we’ll see how that one plays out, may simply be that it’s added that due to his age and not playing last year

Happy with that. He’s clearly winding down his career but brings excellent experience.

He also says he might have played with another new Steeler but can’t say who it is.

I would think Seigo might be the most likely. On the other hand I could be totally wrong and it could be a European import that Ellerby has iced alongside.

Very happy with this signing, he brings size, a physical presence and bags of experience.

At 32 he's not as old as I was expecting when I saw the amount of experience he has.

Obviously he's on the downward slope, but starting at such a high base he should still be very good at our level.

Very happy so far with our import D.....two more quality guys and we'll really be rolling.

Sounds like the final two D will be on Uni courses, so you'd expect a decent standard of player using that carrot as an incentive.
