Only a minor niggle, but storm and devils both have their highlights online from yesterdays games - meanwhile nothing from steelers...

I watched this game on stream, and have to say I'm very impressed with their arena! It's going to be great for the league for sure, hopefully Storm will be able to maintain a reasonable fanbase to keep the arena full.

I was thinking though, in all the interviews when facing the storm in Altringham, folks always said that it's a hard place to play because of the rink size and the speed that the puck bounces in their rink.... with this being more arena sized ice, does this mean that their home advantage won't be as much now? Or will their extra fans balance that out.

I suppose the Storm did have a home advantage when playing out of their former dump, but then again for 50% of their games, the away games, their team had to play in a totally different style. It's probably hard to recruit a team that can be equally effective in both types of rink. So the jury is out on whether or not that is an advantage overall. It may have helped them in home games and hurt them for away games.

Wonder what’s up with Dowd then?

My worry with Dowd, rewatching the Cardiff highlights, I thought he took a few heavy shots in his scrap at the end. To me he looked a bit stunned and like his legs staggered at one point, could be wrong and it was a balance thing, but I got the feeling he went for the take down to end things.

I hope it’s not the case and all is well, but could be rested for precautionary reasons if so.
