I agree, I've enjoyed Teissala so far and Collins looked good in the draw and experienced with the puck.
Anyone got any thoughts on Juusola's first couple of matches..?

More questions than answers for me, I certainly don't think we look like we have the quality to challenge Belfast.
The first period was atrocious, we couldn't string 2 passes together and looked all over the place. We were also very poor at faceoffs.
The second period was actually very good. We were much more mobile, the passes were to sticks and the control was better. We also won our fair share of faceoffs.
Third period we were better than the first, but not great.
Overall I thought we struggled at faceoffs, although Collins did very well and Bettenger wasn't bad.
I guess it showed some character to come back into it like we did, but the quality isn't there at the moment.
As for the question above - I like Juusola, but so far he looks a long way off his best.

It is listed as 11,026.
Just looking at the gamesheet and Cormier was on the ice for all 5 Storm goals.
His +/- was fairly poor last season. I think this is cause for some concern......is he being too offensive?

Re Cormier - he really needs a stay at home D partner. His first season he was usually paired with Tansey, who looked after the house while Cormier was out.
I’m not sure he had that second season with Tansey largely playing forward. Tansey also had the size to compliment.
Maybe Stucker or Steele could be a good partner?
Brilliant attendance figures. Might be different when ticket prices are at their normal prices, but still a fantastic attendance.
I didn't see the game, but looking at the game sheet Teissala got thrown out for boarding and subsequent fight?
No supplementary discipline I hope for those types of penalties in pre-season?
I also noticed a Storm player also got 5 mins for boarding as well, but wasn't thrown out?
A feisty game then? I always watch the wrong one lol.

The Teissala hit deserved the penalty he got. It was clumsy and potentially dangerous hitting the guy in the back and knocking him into the boards.smbmetal wrote: ↑Mon Sep 07, 2026 9:56 amBrilliant attendance figures. I wouldn't call it a fight though. The Manchester guy came in throwing punches and Teissala just defended himself. Teissala really shouldn't have got 5 minutes for fighting, but I understand why they do give it in those circumstances.
The Erkamps fight was a proper old school fight, fair play to him and the Mancs player trying to get the big crowd into it from the off.

About the crowd. Well Storm lost but thankfully for them, not in a fashion likely to put the crowd off. I wonder now what sort of crowd they can expect on a regular basis. I really hope their AO experiment works. It will be a real shot in the arm for the league. Probably home sell outs for steelers too.

Think my only objection would be - Cutlers hit on Archambault should’ve been the same penalty, or vice versa. It was a little further out from the boards, but not much in it for me and equally as dangerous.Doom wrote: ↑Mon Sep 07, 2026 11:20 amThe Teissala hit deserved the penalty he got. I was surprised, on a team front, that no one in orange stepped in(/up). I guess we needed the PP quite desperately at that point.
Highlights:

Like the stream view. A little bit different from Altringham eh?
Really need the playoffs venue changing to this arena now once the contract is up.
Good comeback. Storm looked better than at the Sheffield Arena.
Whilst not shown on the highlights, I presume we had the same stick up for our player that was boarded like the Storm player was? No? Shock horror
Brine looked nice and solid on the penalty shots.
Wonder what’s up with Dowd then?
