I imagine it's a tough gig coming in to be colour man on a commentary team alongside an established main voice, especially if you're an unknown name rather than a much-loved ex-player. Everyone of us will have an opinion on the guy and readily voice it, but not one of us would stand a chance of either getting that job or doing it to a reasonable standard. If you've watched the other streams around the league (or even some of the CHL ones) you will know that it is not an easy job to do well. I say give the guy a chance.

Wasn't Ron Shudra also missing at the start of last season ?, maybe just a family holiday.

Not sure Dowd should be lifting legs of the opponent up in the fight?
The devils fans certainly didnt seem happy about it on the Interno forum. It did look like a dangerous move.

It looked clumsy more that malicious, I don’t class Dowd as a ‘dirty’ player who would intentionally go out to injure someone in that way. It wasn’t on the same level as Brad Voth almost decapitating Ashley Tait.

It didn't seem typical of Dowd to be fair.

Tho to be fair, if you don't want to get hurt, you probably shouldn't skate from your goal line to the half way line to start a fight in the last few minutes of a game where you're winning.

Saying it was clumsy implies he didn't mean to do it.Dowd attempted to lift his leg right at the start of the fight but failed, the fact he managed it to end the fight suggests to me it was premeditated.
