Oh I do agree, thats the policy now... I was just perplexed how it had washed over me... but I am still thinking we had at some stage 2 different dates to buy Season ticket seats in the past... then all seats went on sale after those 2 dates... :peek:

That would be my recollection as well Jay. Clearly not anymore lol.

Wonder if a few people have been caught out thinking along the same lines (2 deadline dates)? Oops if so.

Thats as may be, but the big issue with buying one of them is that you would then feel obliged to go watch Sheffield Wednesday :D

Match night tickets go on sale at lunchtime today, it will be interesting to see how much they are........my guess is £28.00 up from £23.00.

We'll still be getting ours for Saturday night hockey, but I can see a substantial rise in cost putting a lot of people off in the current financial climate.

The ticket is marked as £26.50 but the Ticketmaster add ons make it £31.50 and the free under 5 ticket seems to be gone with all child tickets being £14.95 now also….are tickets bought in person at the arena still susceptible to these add ons of £3.75 and £1.25 per person?

OK that £31.50 include the various fees to pay for having the gall to want to buy a ticket (£26.50 + £3.75 + £1.25)

I think last years adult tickets were £20 plus £3 fees. So overall including fees we're talking a 36% price increase. In what other business is this acceptable? That takes the piss really. Loving the team or not, love the on-ice product or not, I'm out I'm afraid, will not be attending any games other than the discount tickets games and possibly boxing day. Might pick up a cheaper hobby like yatching or skiing.

Even the additional fees themselves have gone up. The "Service Charge" has gone up 50% from £2.50 to £3.75. And the "Facility Charge" has gone up 25% from £1.00 to £1.25. The adult single ticket itself has gone up 32.5%. Arena parking (pre booked!) has gone up from £10 to £14, a whopping 40%. Astonishing.

(To put this into context, if the same percentage increases are applied next year, you're going to be paying top side of £40 for an adult ticket and £20 to park.)

EDIT; in other sports and towns with functioning local sports journalism this kind of price gouging would be subject to some scrutiny in the press. Obviously we can forget about that here unless someone dies and they blow the cobwebs off Bob W.
