Not a Steelers signing as such, but I see Shane Owen has signed for the Dogs.

A great signing for them, but I suspect this is also an insurance policy for the Steelers.

Brine is undoubtedly a risky signing for us, so Owen provides a bit of insurance if Greenfield gets injured. We won't be having to rely on Brine to play all the games, Owen would be able to share the load.

Bearing in mind imports can't be on two-way deals, how exactly would that work?

If he's stepped down to the Dogs at 36 it's probably because he can't or doesn't want to play and train full time, for instance if he's studying or has some side hustle business to deal with. So he's then unlikely to turn around and sign to play full-time with the Steelers.

I recall similar comments regarding Tremblay after he signed for the Dogs (both the two way issue and personal study).

Maybe we'll never see Owen in a Steelers shirt, but I think if Greenfield gets injured at a crucial time, we'll see Owen move across the road.

No complaints from me, along with Dougherty he was the other player I was OK with us bringing back.

Tait brings speed to the team which keeps the opposition on their toes and fearful of pressing too deep. He also finished 4th on our +/- last season, partly because his speed could get him back to defend (unlike Ritchie).

Only negative for me is this doesn't help our goal scoring, so Fox is going to have to pull at least one high scoring centre out of the hat.

I'm guessing Tait either joins Whistle and IBN on 4th or goes onto the 3rd with either Dowd or Jasper on 4th.

Either way, our 4th looks a lot stronger next season and should get a lot more ice time.

As an addition, I've just read the article and had a look at Elite Prospects.

Over the last 4 league seasons, Tait has played 54, 53, 54 and 54 games. Missing only 1 game in 4 seasons is very impressive.

Likewise pleased he’s back. I thought he was one of our best during the playoffs, and was netting much more frequently than regular season.

My last remaining - 're-sign list' player of all the ones that have returned.

As already mentioned above, his goal/points output isn't great, but his roar speed and work ethic is to be admired for me.

Let's hope he can take his playoff form into the regular season games.

I'm pleased he's returned.

Welcome to Sheffield Aatu D-man.

Hopefully he's more mobile than his Star Wars namesake.
what number is he... he has missed a trick if he is not #2
defence 2 - = D2 = Aatu D2
