This one past me by, but it looks like we've signed 18 year old Jordan O'Brien on a two way with the Dogs.

Hopefully one for the future.

Hadn't seen that either. Good spot. Good luck to him and his development.Doom wrote: ↑Mon May 25, 2026 8:59 amThis one past me by, but it looks like we've signed 18 year old Jordan O'Brien on a two way with the Dogs.

It sounds a similar situation to Steele who also missed a full season (or was it two?), but he seemed to slip back into things quite quickly.
A player I'd love to see us pick up on a two way is Alex Rushby.
He's from Worksop and started in the Sheffield junior set up before moving to Nottingham.
If I recall correctly, when he was in Sheffield our junior team was top of the league, but when he moved to Nottingham they started winning all their games.
I suspect he's a generational talent like Kieran Brown, Alex Graham and Liam Kirk.
For Nottingham U19 last season he produced 83 points from 16 games. To give that some context, the next best in the whole league managed 39 from 17.
He's only 17, but played a few games for Peterborough in the NIHL last season.
I'm sure i read somewhere that he switched from Sheffield to Nottingham because he couldn't get on with somebody in the Sheffield system.
I suspect he'll end up on a two way between Nottingham and Peterborough, but I'd like to think Slava/Aaron have been in contact selling the benefits of the Sheffield link up.
Whilst looking at Rushby another name I picked up was Ricards Misins. I can't say he's been on my radar before, but it looks like he started with Haringey, moved to Latvia for a year and last year played in the Finnish junior system. Like Rushby, he's only 17.

It’s good to see that we have had top level hockey for long enough now to see these young talents coming through. There is another one who I have known from birth, Seth Bennet’s son Jonas. For years I had to roll balls across the suite at Nottingham during the playoffs for him to hit back at me. Now he plays as a defenceman for Leeds and at international youth level. Surely we need to recruit him back to Sheffield soon. Get to it Foxy!

Only 17 and playing for the Leeds Knights 1st team in the NIHL is very impressive.
I would guess he's on the Steelers radar and having grown up around the Steelers I would like to think there is some emotional attachment.
