False alarm, sounds like it’s stream pricing being announced.SteelerBlade wrote:Another signing at 2pm, likely to be Brett Welychka.

Fox confirms we’re looking for a left-shot D and a centre to finish the roster.

Steelers announcing last two imports tomorrow at 6am.
These would make a nice final duo in the correct positions, both on the same team.

If a hastily took down post in the Star is anything to go by the final 2 players look to be Josef Hrabal back in a steelers shirt and a new guy 5' 10" Josef Mikyska...
I think Josef Hrabal was one of those instantly forgettable players I truly can't remember him or my opinion of him to tell the truth... as for Josef Mikyska well he looks a little small and lightweight to me although seems to be more of a goal provider than a sniper..
a point a game man in Slovakia but not sure how that translates to over here...I can't say either of these two thrill me TBH

Overall I'm happy with the roster and I think we should be competitive. There's a couple of the imports I have a question mark over, but the others all look good solid additions.
Bring on the hockey.

I think we are looking balanced, Fox looks to have consciously gone for a younger side too after our injury woes last year.
We’re obviously missing lots of offence and energy with no Vallerand & DeLuca but hopefully that is offset by some better D and an upgraded netminder in Muse.
We’ve got some experienced bottom six players in Myers, J. Phillips & Hewitt so should shore us up a bit there.
Also some exciting young players in Graham & Waller who will see decent ice one would imagine.
As for the imports I’d say we look pretty solid, got a player in Olden who, if not for Covid, would be playing at the ICEHL/DEL level for sure. Mikyska also a good add directly from Czech Extraliga which is a top level Euro League. I’m excited to see what Danielsen can offer on D.
We’re maybe a touch small for a regular EIHL season but looking at the player market and the other rosters I don’t think we’ll be any smaller or less physical than the other 3 sides. This is going to be a series won on skill and skating ability on Nottingham’s big sheet.

Can't wait.
The interesting aspect for me is the reduced import levels which means more top three line action for more brits.
Will we see the experienced pro Brits dominate third line duties or will we see up and coming young talent get decent action.
I would like to see Waller on one wing, Graham on other, centred by either Myers or Hewitt. Prefer Myers for his extra defensive abilities as well as experience.
If Waller impresses (always liked the look of him) would love to see us get him here long term.
Doom. Imports concern Mikyska and Beaudry? I'm hopeful will do ok.
