A great coach doesn't always deliver. Sometimes it doesn't work. It didn't go brilliantly for Thommo here after season 2, but to say he's not a top coach at this level is laughable.

Did Simms over hype his mate a bit? Yeah, probably.

Is Thommo a good coach? Absolutely.

Listen to players who played for him - not many bad reports, and often a few "best coach I've played for".

They'll be horrible to play against, even if on paper they're unlikely to win the league

Fife sign Josh Winquist from Selber Wolfe.
A point per game in 227 ECHL games and a point every other game in 140 AHL games.
Top signing for the Flyers and the league

That's a signing sny team in the league would be happy with.

Hopefully there is renewed enthusiasm in Fife and they can get the crowds back in.

Nobody is expecting them to challenge for the title, but if they can be competitive in their own league battle with the likes of Dundee and Manchester, that would be a positive step.

We had 500 season tickets sold by the middle of last month on the back of Hunt and Svendson signings.
Signed the guys to do the dirty work, now signing the skill guys who will have the freedom to play because of the previous signings.
We still have 3 of our top 6 forwards and first line D to sign.
There will be a spare as well but don't think that will happen before the season starts

Good to see Fife looking competitive. I have a soft spot for their fans who were always friendly on my trips up there. Supporting a top winning team is easy but not so much one around the foot of the table, yet they turned up and cheered on their lads every game.
I wish them good luck this season .

Very good signing in Fife, and the last couple of Manchester ones too.

Whilst I still think over the league season it's a top 3, a middle 4 and a bottom 3, it doesn't feel like any single game will be a gimme

Fife sign former Memorial Cup winner and member of last seasons Kelly Cup Champions, Trois Rivieres, Justin Ducharme.
0.67 ppg in 195 ECHL games and still young at 25.
Another really good pick up by Flyers

Sounds very positive and exciting for Fife. Good to hear :thumb:

Is there new ownership there now then?

Not following it very closely, I'm sure there was some positive noises last season regarding some players Fife had signed but they didn't play or left during the early part of the season?

Lets hope this isn't the case for this season?

Yeah new owners. Max Birbraer is the GM and face of the team and Gareth Chalmers who was involved with Clan is the new commercial manager.
We have come to recruitment a bit late but we will run with 4 lines this season, something we haven't done before.
This is a rebuild and re-establishing our name season and we have already recruited well and the rumours of the last two forwards and D men are really good quality as well
