So 2 signings to be announced this week, at least 1 tomorrow. I assume it will be Seitz and Jasper given the lack of other rumours out there. I don't think they are the 2 Fox is referring to in the update yesterday however. No idea on those, Diffley seems to be strongly linked but nothing on him from the usual reliable accounts on X.

I did see a couple of posts from an account that appears to have got some sources (been ahead of the game on a few signings around the league), that suggests we were talking with a player with KHL and Swiss experience. No name, so not sure if he's one of the two Fox mentions but fingers crossed. I've done some digging and got what I think is the most likely name, but all guess work so wouldn't be the most helpful share considering not really based on anything solid. If it is the guy I think it might be, then we will look on paper to have a very solid forward group
And as if by magic, the very reliable X account posts Cliff Pu as joining us - a few seasons in the KHL and last year split between Slovakia and the SL in Switzerland - playing with Sondre Olden and Steve Owre, scoring at a very similar rate to those 2 players (way less games though).

Played with Josh Nicholls at Kunlun, but outscored him massively.

Should be a really good pick up

Pu is a tough one to call because of the leagues he's played in.

At 27 he's still at a very good age and he's played in some very good leagues, which would suggest he'd play a good two way game.

He's listed as RW/C, so I wonder if he's our 1st line centre.

His numbers are generally quite low, but that's to be expected in the likes of the KHL. If he was putting up good numbers he wouldn't give us a second glance

Mainly due to his age and the direction of travel, but I'd be more enthusiastic about Fu than Jasper.

I was chatting to my mate a couple of weeks ago and he was saying he thought the Panthers team looked more exciting than ours. If Fu signs, I doubt that will be enough to change his mind.

It is easy to forget though the quality of our returning players.

Pu should be at about a PPG minimum, given leagues he's played in and numbers he's put up. SL is obviously the closest comparison, and even though it's limited in number of games, he's on par with Owre (who Giants fans would take back in a flash).

0.4 PPG in the KHL is ridiculous for the EIHL for someone who's under 28. Roughly same points/games in Slovakia as Golod had before joining us, so I'm really positive if this comes off.

GS season we had 6 forwards at or over 1 ppg. Last year 4 (5 with Golod). So far I have:

Balmas
Juusola
Dowd
Seitz
Pu

All at a ppg, with Gentile and Tait also potentially capable of the same.

I make it one more forward to come given current known and rumoured signings and we have 5 + 2 potential forwards capable of ppg pace. That's some serious depth, especially when Tremblay showed he's able to play up lines and chip in on scoring..

D is where there's still a bit of a question mark for me now and of course backup n/m. If our last D is Diffley, then I think it's a slight downgrade on D, but mainly due to Kelly taking the 6th spot, instead of Guimond. Southorn i think probably is not far off what we got from Sauce last year but hard to tell.

I wouldn't be shocked if we signed a spare import D, with Tansey stepping up to forward if we have an injury there

Eamon McAdam is our backup import n/m if the usual rumour account is correct.

As a backup I'll take him - not his best year, but he should make a very capable backup to Greenfield to give him some rest

It seems to have gone quiet on Golod.

If the rumours are correct, there aren't many spots left for him.

Sounds like the final forward spot is still open, no clue on who.

Final D rumour I've just heard is Jack Daugherty from Vienna. Not as sure whether this is correct, but I really hope so. If it is then my concern about how we looked at the back is gone.

Dougherty would be a good signing.

Just to keep me happy, he was joint top of the Vienna +/-.

Loads of top level experience, but still only 29.

I'd be happy with this one, which means it won't happen 😄

I can't say I'd be overly enthused.

Fairly average numbers in Belfast and poor numbers in DEL 2 last season.

I hope we're aiming higher.
