Saw a post somewhere else which made an interesting point on the Shudra incident - bar the cross check when Busch is on the floor, were any of the others really worse than what a net front PP guy gets every time he sets up in front of the crease?
Not saying I don't think Shudra should have been banned, but it is an interesting point. We all know Mathieu Roy's body fell apart due in part to punishment he took at the net front, but rarely see penalties called in those situations, unless it's really bad.

On Saturday night in Nottingham, Steelers forward #13 Daniel Leavens slashed Panthers defenseman #24 Matt Spencer.
The incident occurred at 37:48 in the 2nd period of league game number 115.
Effective immediately #13 Daniel Leavens is fined.
Since when has slashing warranted a fine? and I dont mean ever? i mean without it being decided it was intended to cause injury or malicious in some way? without an explanation, he simply got fined for slashing! didn't he?

As I understand it, and I may be wrong, unless called as a major penalty DOPS do not get involved. I think a club may make a referral but they have to pay a fee. Without an explanation from DOPS it just doesn't make sense, are they saying the refs SHOULD have called a major ?, in which case why not say so and make it clear.Jayboy wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2024 4:08 pmmark wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2024 2:52 pmLeavens gets a fine for slashing: https://www.eliteleague.co.uk/article/4 ... r-slashing but with no explanation as to why this offence merited action by DOPS.

It really boils my pee when I read crap like this, if he did something to warrant a fine then that fair enough, but for the love of god just tell us, otherwise its just lazy and totally unprofessional....
