The only recourse I see best, is to block both the "journalist" and "newspaper" on any social media platforms you are on. It deprives them of any of your potential future views/clicks, and gives them the regard they deserve for their kind of "reporting" and that's to be ignored.

I agree with Mark and Disco Ray just boycott the star . I prefer Phil Harrison’s reports and Pete Spencer s interviews. Both guys tell it how it is not like FAirytale and the star trying to sensationalise it for their own ends .

He's just reporting the facts as a journalist should! the fact that there's been no other Steeler articles is a different issue.

Question then. Is it just "reporting the facts" when you go out your way to obtain a coroners report, sit on it for a while, then drop an article about it on a day that just happens to be the deceased man's birthday, as he did in the case reporting about Andre Payette? There are at least four instances in the past year of this "journalist" trying to exploit the deaths of others for views & clicks to his own articles, and that's before you get into his track-record elsewhere of cringe/low-brow reporting that spans many years.lovedenisvial wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 9:13 amHe's just reporting the facts as a journalist should! the fact that there's been no other Steeler articles is a different issue.
I'll leave it there, as saying anything further I'd want to say, would not be in alignment with the forum rules.

A journalist shouldn't get so close to an organisation they can no longer report objectively on it, neither should they become a protagonist in an ongoing story, something he has done before. They should report fairly when persons connected with the club act in a manner which brings worldwide criticism and not ignore or minimise it because the person involved is a friend.lovedenisvial wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 9:13 amHe's just reporting the facts as a journalist should! the fact that there's been no other Steeler articles is a different issue.
He's sat on those facts you are referring to for a while, choosing to release it on the birthday of the deceased person, maybe he thought it would get more views, he did exactly the same with Payette, this was not an accident. And here is why it isn't a different issue, I believe this would have been handled differently if Westerdale had not been shunned by the players for his actions involving the AJ incident. This feels like an act of revenge.
This appears a callous and uncaring act which caused unnecessary pain to friends and relatives, made worse by the deliberate timing.
There are many journalists I admire, Bob W is no Woodward or Bernstein , no Glen Greenwald.

Can't agree with that I'm afraid let the kid rest and his parents grieve.lovedenisvial wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 9:13 amHe's just reporting the facts as a journalist should! the fact that there's been no other Steeler articles is a different issue.

I think the point here is that the facts dont really need reporting do they.. It's not really a public interest story and as has been pointed out, the report is in the public domain already, with anybody who is truly interested can view the report without the need for any hurt occurring to his friends,Family or colleagues...lovedenisvial wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 9:13 amHe's just reporting the facts as a journalist should!
The facts are in the report, as just that, a report format, with only facts.
The story clearly uses terms and phrases designed to sensationalise the piece. To me thats poor journalism at best and downright appalling diatribe at its worst.

He has a choice how and when and what he reports, and in this case he's caused avoidable distress to innocent people. If you think that's acceptable you are in a very small minority on here.lovedenisvial wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 4:29 pmHe's a reporter and he reports facts! and we all have our own opinions on the matter! we choose to read it, follow it or discard it! you make you own mind up!

I don't have a view just stating the obvious facts!
