With regards to Vally, I remember showing my mate his game log on Boxing Day.
He'd gone from 22nd October until 10th December (9 games) without registering a single point.
He'd also gone 12 games without a goal.
We both concluded that it might be best to leave him out for a bit. Of course he then went and scored on Boxing Day. The way the players celebrated with him you could tell how much that meant to them all.
That goal got the monkey off his back and he then went on a superb run of form in the New Year scoring 22 goals in 31 games. I guess the old saying is true, form is temporary but class is permanent.
I'd be very happy to see Vally back on our 3rd line.
Regards

Daniel Leavens is a name doing the rounds this morning.
Be happy if this was true!

Looks a bit of a mixed bag.
Good numbers in the ECHL, particularly his last season where he also finished top of the +/-.
Last season appears to have been his worst, with points production down and bottom of +/-.
He's quite a big body, so I'm guessing he plays a heavy game.
He would be a wait and see for me if he signs.

Nothing really gets me particularly excited here. Not even any AHL experience.Morpheous wrote: ↑Sun Jun 02, 2024 11:27 amLooks a decent pick up if true.teeLIST wrote: ↑Sun Jun 02, 2024 11:21 amDaniel Leavens is a name doing the rounds this morning.

PPG in ICEHL, tied second on his team in scoring this past year. Those are legit numbers. Would be a quality signing.
Remember that's the league Ciampini Tansey and Sauce played together in. It's no joke of a league.

Ciampini was under a PPG overall in ICEHL as well.
Leavens numbers are really good, not sure how this looks nothing to be excited about.
The question is who is he replacing? If he's a Neumann replacement, then I'd say it's an on paper upgrade.

Nothing gets you excited? A ppg game his last full season in ECHL, 1.25ppg in Norway and a ppg in icehl over last 3 seasons. Looks like maybe a replacement for Allen.

I always tend to put more of a weighting on the last season and the concern for me would be those +/-.
Some of his numbers in previous seasons are very good, but at his age he's probably peaked and now starting to decline.
I ask myself how would I feel if he signed for Belfast or Cardiff? The answer is I wouldn't be too concerned.
If he does sign the main positive I take is that Fox wants him and sees where he fits into his plan......In Fox we trust.

+/- isn't terrible though. Too much dependent on line mates to be taken as an indicator of how he would play in a different system.Doom wrote: ↑Sun Jun 02, 2024 9:59 pmI always tend to put more of a weighting on the last season and the concern for me would be those +/-.

I think you're under valuing that league. It's really good at the top end, and on a team who finished 2nd , he's tied for 2nd most points.
