So if we get to the point where the remainder of league games are played behind closed doors will free streaming of those games be available the the season ticket fans of all EIHL clubs? Should it? Discuss

I think that's a very fair expectation and a fair compromise.

May be difficult to authenticate or put a system like that in though?

If not, suitable re-funds should be given to season ticket holders for games that could not be attended.

I'm not a season ticket holder.

Not sure how much streaming costs. If it’s cheap as chips then ok, why not go ahead and do it. If not we have to consider the viability of the clubs finances given loss of non-season ticket sales.

As for refunding season ticket holders. At this stage I’d personally rather write it off than think the club or league may go under as a result of a pandemic.

The clubs need revenue to survive Fact so to finish the league and or playoffs behind closed doors is less than desirable..
In other sports they are postponing or re scheduling games and events which of course still gives the clubs a chance to gather revenue even if delayed.
The EHIL however have issues regarding any delay of the league and playoffs because of a large percentage of players due to return home in April, we could not keep them in the country..
So then we are left with cancelling the rest of the season.!

The fans will miss out on hockey and take a financial hit in most cases, the only chance to gain revenue during games being played behind close doors is to provide quality paid for streams..

But its clearly not fair to expect someone who has paid to see a game they can't now attend through no personal fault to pay again to watch the same game...

I wouldn’t accept a refund from the club, it’s not their fault this has happened and we’re in deep water here that could risk the future of UK hockey.

I think if sporting events are banned, I think the EIHL will cancel the season and try and nullify player contracts early. Teams can not afford to play behind closed doors without the ticket money

Me neither, I am not after one or expecting one either!

But if games were to ever be played and fans not allowed to attent then why would providing a stream for that game be any different? When a game is fully attended then almost non of those paying to watch are paying twice.
The club is not losing out on revenue because all those at the game don't pay for a stream of the game anyway.
So giving away the stream to those same fans don't lose you revenue..

All season tickets have a number and game tickets are similarly recorded..

Surely the Steelers Org have brains enough to use this as a code to watch the stream!

Makes perfect sense... I expect the games left on the season ticket will be discounted from next year's ticket... It would be a great gesture from the club to its loyal ST fans that renew year in year out....
