Hopefully this result tonight will dispel any little doubts that might of been creeping in about this group. As said previously this team is too good and experienced to implode and collapse and that is why they will take the league title this season. Yes a game will be lost here and there thats the nature of the game, but the consistency is there to see them over the line. well done steelers for that performance tonight
That's a very important win after yesterday.
I didn't actually think we were poor yesterday, but we did fall short in certain aspects of our game and lady luck deserted us with the Belfast goals.
This win puts us in a very nice place going into the final on Wednesday, I think it was important to build some momentum.
We do have a very tough league title run in and let's not forget that other teams have had a bad game or two after a CC final (didn't we put 10 past Cardiff after they won it?).
A maximum of 10 points required from 10 games.....it's getting closer.

Would have taken a split weekend if offered before this one.
1st period was a joy to watch and had pretty much everything most hockey fans should enjoy. We then managed the game very well indeed, saving energy for the CC final on Wednesday.
Might have been the stream but considering there was over 9,000 people in the arena the atmosphere sounded very quiet indeed. Hope it’s not the same for the CC final.
Well done lads. Replicate the 1st period for the CC final and Guildford will be chasing shadows.

The atmosphere in the arena tonight certainly wasn't quite... far from it..smbmetal wrote:Would have taken a split weekend if offered before this one.

It went quieter but I felt it was because we were containing the game well, not pushing too hard so there was less to get excited about.
The chant at the end was as loud as I’ve heard it for a while and we stood up without a Simms prompt with almost a minute to go. Unlike yesterday very few people left before the end.

Wonderful performance, that’s as big as it gets. Good response.
Interesting Whistle was dropped after being so good, maybe he’s still unable to play too many games with the long-standing hip issues?

I wasn’t looking forward to this game if I’m honest. However, how wrong I was.
From the first face off the team we’re on it.
I do like that 29, 12, 24 line, they must be horrible and exhausting to play against. They just never let up.
Allen’s goal is one of the best finishes that I’ve seen in many a year at the Arena.

What a brilliant performance and far better than I had dared hope for after the night before. A great response and statement of intent.
As for Whistle, I heard he has been struggling with his back, but have not been able to verify that.
