If at the time it was posted there was no indication it was a serious incident then he's ok, if it was afterwards then no so much. Many post pictures or videos of incidents that happen, it's about the timing. He has taken the post down.wakefieldsteelersfan wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2023 8:54 pm
Agreed. As well as that absolute scumbag Bob Westerdale posting a photo of it on twitter. I hope he's never welcomed back into the arena.

I personally think that photos of ANY type of injury whether it be minor or major should ever be posted.mark wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2023 9:09 pmIf at the time it was posted there was no indication it was a serious incident then he's ok, if it was afterwards then no so much. I was watching the stream.
Jonathan and the broadcast team handled the situation very very well.
Once it was apparent this wasn’t a routine hockey type of injury, they switched to a goal cam.
Jonathan himself refrained from describing what what was evolving in front of him and you could hear the distress in his voice, but his professionalism shon through.
A credit to this club

It was an absolutely terrible thing to witness. I won't go into details here other than that.
I will say that the medical personnel from both teams were on hand almost immediately closely followed by the arena medical provider.
The staff did the right thing by cancelling the game when they did. However Showsec could've made more of an effort to make people leave as there were a lot of people still stood watching as the crowd thinned out.
Both sets of players were on point assisting staff to the downed player although one has to question why no one appeared to have cleats on their shoes? Instead hanging onto players - though admittedly that was probably quicker.
I hope the player pulls through.

With the amount of backlash he received I'm not surprised. I don't want to go into the details of the photo but it was taken well after it was apparent how serious it was, he knew exactly what he was doing.mark wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2023 9:09 pmIf at the time it was posted there was no indication it was a serious incident then he's ok, if it was afterwards then no so much. Just to clarify, and be up front I started to video it in the very first initial stages thinking the player had maybe knocked out a few teeth but cut it off very quickly once it became obvious of the serious nature of the injury, with the amount of blood I then saw, I often (as i need glasses) put my phone on to camera mode to view what is happening on the zoom function as I can't always see first hand.. happening. if I caused any offence to those behind me that may have seen this I unequivocally apologise and assure you at the beginning I had no idea what had happened as I just did not see it happen, i only caught a very brief view as I was busy talking to Mel next to me...

People make mistakes, you weren't to know how bad the injury was/is Jay.Jayboy wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2023 9:32 pmJust to clarify, and be up front I started to video it in the very first initial stages thinking the player had maybe knocked out a few teeth but cut it off very quickly once it became obvious of the serious nature of the injury, with the amount of blood I then saw, I often (as i need glasses) put my phone on to camera mode to view what is happening on the zoom function as I can't always see first hand.. happening. if I caused any offence to those behind me that may have seen this I unequivocally apologise and assure you at the beginning I had no idea what had happened as I just did not see it happen, i only caught a very brief view as I was busy talking to Mel next to me...![]()

I was at the back of 103, sitting very close to a certain Mr W. I'm not medically trained, but I was well aware within seconds that the fella was in a very serious, possibly life threatening situation and needed urgent attention, that luckily he got.
I only hope that he pulls through.
If, after seeing the same incident that we all did he chose the post an image, it beggars belief in my mind why anyone would choose to do such a thing in that situation. Taken down, or not. Why even post in the 1st place.

It’s a P45 Monday morning for Mr Westerdale for me.
Really, really hope the guy pulls through. After 25 years of watching hockey I hope I’d never hear of an incident like this.
