I was just having a quick look at the Panthers squad and found it quite interesting.
4 of the 6 imports signed to date are new to the league.
5 of the 6 imports are aged between 24 and 28.
It certainly looks like their new coach is looking at signing guys near their peak, rather than older guys with good CVs but heavily on the decline, which they've been guilty of in the past.
It will be interesting to see if they can mount a serious title challenge with their new philosophy.
Regards
Doom

Nazarian looks to be a very good addition to the Giants. Played in AHL and 50 pts last season in the ECHL. Sort of player I would like to see here. Many of our North Americans seem to come via Europe.

We also need to be realistic as to what budgets/salary caps allow for. We can’t go and add players straight out of DEL, certainly not ones who are producing points. Adding lower paid ICEHL imports like Simpson is probably the highest level we will recruit from.
Need to be smart and look at different markets to get good value, particularly in Europe as that’s where we recruit from.
Belfast recruit smartly as of late by offering a platform for ECHLers around the age 26 make the foray into Europe and use Belfast as a stepping stone to better levels.
They haven’t brought in many of those high-calibre proven players with experience, but they still win titles by stretching their budget.

Were in trouble for sure, unless our next set of signings are top line matching forwards because all we have recruited are the same same old talent that didn't even trouble the top ten scoring stats..House_of_Steel wrote: ↑Thu Jun 29, 2023 6:06 pmYep they’ve recruited some talent for sure just looking at their roster SO FAR!!! I challenge anyone to to convince me that these players so far look anywhere near the talent Belfast are recruiting, and we can research that by just looking at last years Steelers Stats....

12 Daniel Ciampini
24 Mark Simpson
25 Brett Neumann
74 Brandon Whistle
75 Robert Dowd
88 Marc-Olivier Vallerand
I see a decent middle 6 here?
