Ended up watching the stream.
A better effort against a poor Cardiff side.
We were good in the face of dots tonight though.
Most teams are far, far behind Belfast. I’d be amazed if they didn’t win all 3 trophies this season to be honest.

3rd goal scored by Connolly assisted Latal on the PP...
Steelers win!
Steelers 3-2 Devils.
Hopefully Guildford can go on & beat Dundee now.

Guildford lead 2-1 vs Dundee, end of the 1st
Coventry 4-1 Panthers in the other game.
Edit : now 4-2
I guess, if folk think we have problems, take a closer look at our neighbours down the M1....

No complaints about that game, the effort was there, even if we had lost.
We didn't miss Sam Jones or Brandon McNally at all.
Also Brendan Connelly is back to his old self this past 6 weeks or so, I still think he brings more positives than negatives.

Agree about Connolly. He has been through a long period where he was nothing more than a liability. Stupid penalties, risky cross ice passes that get intercepted etc. but last few weeks much improved
I won’t miss McNally if he never plays for us again. A thoroughly nasty and mindless idiot. We don’t need his like in a steelers team. Brainless on Friday, deserves his suspension.

Connolly was very good today and has been for the past few weeks. Brilliant little trip to create the space for him the score today. A certain Mr Brebant was good at things like that.
I completely understand why most people wouldn’t want McNally in their team. He has made some terrible decisions when it comes to trying to get involved in the physical play. He’s deserved the suspensions he’s had.Bryan wrote: ↑Sun Mar 26, 2023 7:18 pmAgree about Connolly. He has been through a long period where he was nothing more than a liability. Thing is (for me), I want my Steelers team to have some nastiness in them and McNally brings that. I firmly believe that under a coach that knows how to use that side wisely, McNally can be a big asset and could turn the momentum of a game on his own. I don’t believe Fox knows how to handle him.
Successful Steelers teams of old generally had a bit of nastiness in them.

I’m all in favour of skilled players who have toughness but McNally shows zero judgement. I don’t see how fox could have stopped his absurd behaviour in Belfast . It was petulant and selfish. He wasn’t thinking of the team at all.

And its fair share of nutters and on the whole we loved them, an opposition Player only had to fart downwind of Plommer and he would go after them... and I can think of a few other ex players that many on here would be going apoplectic over if they were in today's steelers.smbmetal wrote: ↑Sun Mar 26, 2023 8:00 pmI completely understand why most people wouldn’t want McNally in their team.
