A much better performance but that's not hard with the way we have been playing and against what is a very poor Panthers side.

I do miss the lack of edge and intensity. Thought the first line had a very good night, Petgrave was excellent, the second line decent. The third quick line didn't really do much although Neumann worked his socks off.

Apart from the awful 2nd I quite enjoyed that.
Better than the midweek Dundee game which I know is damning with faint praise but I'd rather be watching that than sat at home suffering Ant and Dec.

Nottingham are utterly abysmal and we need to ensure we get them in the play offs and not Coventry.

A vital win , can't drop any points now. Nottingham were poor opposition though, Dundee put a lot more effort in on Wednesday with I suspect less resources. We looked slicker than of late and could have scored a lot more. Offensive zone penalties again and Ciampini doesn't seem to know the basic rule that you can't play a puck if you are not on the ice !
As for Nottingham I actually felt sorry for their supporters , treating the game as a dead rubber disrespects those who have travelled up the M1 and given their time and money to see a team going through the motions. Corey looked totally disinterested and hardly spoke to his players all night.
An interesting fact on the Panthers Forum ( if it's correct )in that if Panthers were to equal the head to head score v the Steelers at the House of Steel they would need to win every game from now until 2034!
Enjoyed the old music , woo woos and Elvis leaving the building again. Although for me booing the away fans on the Tron is a bit too far. Just my opinion.

Looking at the league table I'd suggest we'll be playing either Manchester or Nottingham in playoff QF.

Belfast will win the league and Cardiff are starting to look like a 4th placed team, which would mean Coventry for them.

Nottingham and Manchester are safe in 6th and 7th place and we're likely to finish 2nd or 3rd.

It would certainly be a money spinner for the clubs.

I do think Nottingham have a lot more to offer than they showed last night. Probably Corey doing his usual thing cruising though the league games and saving everything for cup glory.

It was great to get the win, and I know I'm asking too much, but a retro performance against the Panthers would have complimented the retro jerseys nicely ;)
