Well that was shocking.
I thought we were outstanding in the first and should have been further ahead.
The problems seemed to come as the ice condition deteriorated. Passes started to be misplaced, pucks miscontrolled etc. A good coach like Keefe would adapt his team to the conditions....
I've no idea what has happened to Vallerand, but when it went to penalty shots I texted my mates to say he'll probably miss the target.....he did. His shooting was poor all night.
When Robert Dowd took the 5th penalty shot I put my head in my hands. Robert Dowd is a very good player, but I don't ever remember him scoring a penalty shot.
Despite the financial backing, I'm starting to think we won't win anything else with Fox in charge. Keefe looks a mile ahead of him as a coach.
Regards
Doom

Not good enough simple as that. Most players have had a rest with the international break as well. No excuses.
Looking forward to hearing Mr Fox’s thoughts if we actually get to hear them of course.
Home loss to Fife at 3-0 up. Very poor.
9,000+ people there as well.

You won't win hockey games only competing for 20 minutes. Fife hung in there, didn't have to do much to get back into the game helped frankly by a stupid Connolly third period performance. Fox should have benched him after first and definitely after second penalty.
No chance in league and I don't see us winning playoffs.
A very poor coaching showing yet again.

I am sorry but we should not have lost that game... yes the players have to take responsibility for their own performance and some especially so.. but the buck always stops with the coaching staff and Tony Smith is going to have a very long think about tonight's defeat and the way we threw it away...
Fife ultimately deserve to get to the final... Fox as some explaining to do...

Sorry, but that was dreadful.
Think Mr Smith seriously needs to consider if Mr Fox is the right coach for the Steelers because tbh I don't think he is.

I was there, the last 20 mins were shockingly poor, starting with their first goal which Petgrave gifted them.
I could take the loss tonight if it meant we might get the 4 points this weekend, but I doubt we will.
I reckon Belfast have the Challenge Cup, and most likely League sown up, probably the playoffs as well.
I don't know whats happened at the Steelers this past 5 years but they are no longer the powerhouse they used to be.
Maybe its just that other teams in the league have got better.
That was Fife, in a semi-final, at home for christ's sake, we threw it away.

Steelers have accepted being second best as long as the money comes in and the off ice entertainment is keeping fans happy. Its as simple as that.ekt wrote: ↑Wed Feb 15, 2023 11:34 pmI was there, the last 20 mins were shockingly poor, starting with their first goal which Petgrave gifted them.

We were just not ruthless enough . A 3-0 first period, giving a 2 goal lead and we seemed to sit back thinking it was enough. We should have continued in the 2nd with the same impetus as the 1st. Very poor, and in front of a huge crowd too. I'm interested to hear Fox's take on that if he can find time away from updating his CV
