Unlikely it’ll be nasty tomorrow. In my experience the 2nd game isn’t normally feisty. Fox doesn’t like it so would be unlikely.SteelerTempeAl wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 9:39 pmCommentators were as bad as Belfast's cheating and fouling. No wonder it spilled over. Thankfully I'll not be watching tomorrow night on the TV as I expect things might get nastier as they know they can get away with it all game.

Think Belfast just about deserved it. Greenfield keeping us in it in the 2nd period. We played well for about half the game. So slightly better than the last few games.
Really enjoyed the argy bargy at the end, although I’m sure McNally will get a 1 game ban from DOPS, although at the moment the EIHL just have him down for 2+2 for instigating
. Shame he waited until a few seconds left. I’d like to see that from him more regularly, intimidation was a big part of our grand-slam winning team. Not sure whether 3rd man in will also get a game ban? In the old days that would just have been 2+2 for roughing
Pleased that Vally scored. Sure he’ll make a difference to goal scoring, hope it’s not too little too late though.
As usual the biased stream was horrendous. Almost as bad as the ice.

We had some decent moments, but the same faults, too many, will mean that we will likely finish trophyless this season.
With regards to Fox not liking the rough stuff. I remember when he was announced as coach he was asked that question and he said if needed will happen-but we know that generally isn't the case.
Petgrave as MOM was a laugh as he was gifting them 3-4 turnovers each period.
We really are a team lacking in character, discipline when required, physicality when needed, not cutting out errors and taking our chances.

I join in the fun (???) and try to predict but it’s difficult to be both optimistic and realistic at the same time.steeler pete wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 8:20 amVally will bring energy and scoring to the team. A good team that have been a little drained of those 2 elements recently.
I’m a cautious optimist so I think we’ll win this one and tomorrow will go to OT, so a weekend win for us![]()
It seemed like we had the character in the team this season to win a trophy and to still turn this around but I now think we’re on the slippery slope again.
The Eddies will be better though. So all will be well.paul johnston wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 10:16 pmWe had some decent moments, but the same faults, too many, will mean that we will likely finish trophyless this season.

I think Petgrave has skill and flair and tries unconventional moves and passes. As a forward it would lead to goals and if it doesn't come off no problem, but as a defenceman ( like Benny) when it goes wrong it can be disastrous.
I don't get the downer on Petgrave.
Last night he was the only player on our team who finished positive on the +/-.
He's top of our +/- for the season. He must be doing something right, because he's on the ice for a lot more goals that we score than he is on the ice when we concede.
Along with Nevalainen and Greenfield he'd be top of my list for returning next season.
