I take those types of quotes with a pinch of salt-they are usually face saving/trying not to blame one side for the departure type quotes.
Too much of a coincidence when Pete Spencer interviewing Fox barely a week ago asking about having to release a player and Raska was the name mentioned. They were laying the groundwork then for this news.
Hopefully not too many fans bought a 69 replica Jersey for Xmas.

Not surprised by this move, never stood out as a great player in my opinion, not saying he was bad but the others have played better unfortunately, this is sport and people move on.

I liked Raska when I started going in October. Nearly bought the shirt with his name (went with Petgrave) before he lost his place. The article about players leaving made it clear without being clear that Raska wanted to leave.

Gutted for him. I've seen a few Raska shirts at the arena too.

I would suspect it was all agreed last week, but the club didn’t want to deal with requests for refunds from people who had bought Raska shirts as Christmas presents.

Not many players would be happy sitting out, but ultimately Kristo has come in and cemented that spot and Raška didn’t offer enough offensively to justify his position.

He would’ve had to wait for an injury to prove his worth again.
