Any fan who watched that game tonight who didn't think that was a good game and we didn't play well (some on social media are basically calling it a lucky win and all Bowns fault..) need to give their head a wobble and maybe think that Ice Hockey isn't the game for them anymore.
It was a very good and enjoyable night and we matched Cardiff all night and the first period performance set up the win in actuality. Nothing left on the ice and a perfect road game, rode their luck at times but we were playing a good team... i really enjoyed that game... :thumb:

LUCKY WIN!!!! That was an outstanding road game by the Steelers, the best game they have played all season so far and luck has no part in it.

Didn't see the game, caught the highlights and the result speaks for itself. 5-2 away win at the Devils is a big result.

I think we are starting to see the fruits of what we have banged on about for a year or two.
A proper stud goalie who can keep you in or win games himself.
A bit of youth (will be important to have young legs down the stretch).
Some physicality with more bump and grind mixed in with the speed and skill.
Can't stress how much I rate the quality, guile, strength, hockey IQ of the double act of Allen and Ciampini. Top players.

Sounds like a terrific win last night against one of our main rivals.

We were sat in the pub following the score and looking at a few stats from the season so far.

Ciampini is behind where we expected on goals, but he's easily top of the assists with good +/-. That whole line has been very good and had another good night.

This won't be a popular opinion with some, because he's not 6'4" and squashing the opposition, but I think Nevalainen has been excellent for us. He's had to curb his natural attacking instincts to compliment Petgrave, but he's done it very well and covered for his partner when he's gone on one of his charges up the ice.

All very positive and hopefully we'll see Mitchell on the ice very soon. It will be interesting to see who sits when Mitchell does get his chance, but based on numbers alone it has to be Connolly.

Regards

Maybe Connolly will break out on performance, let alone points, but for me his overall game including the ubiquitous silly penalties justifies him sitting it out. I'm interested to see what Mitchell can bring to the team.

Real quality result that. Righting the wrongs of our home opener.

Means nothing though unless we follow it up this evening.

Glad to be one of the 9 people who thought we'd win in regulation ;)

A great win and performance and certainly shows we're right up there, we seemed to have gelled as a team recently and having started finding the back of the net more, whilst managing to keep it out for the most part. I guess having Greenfield performing to this standard every night helps too

Good to see Ciampini's great play rewarded with a couple of goals - his line has been awesome since being put together. Also good for Neumann to bag a goal as his play has deserved more output in terms of points and especially goals.

Always good to see an away win in Cardiff and get them back for the opening night defeat at home.

Saw the Neumann penalty shot goal on YouTube, wow that bloke has a turn of pace, he went straight at Bowns and took his goal beautifully.
