Make no mistake, that was a fabulous win, despite our indiscipline in the 3rd. I thought it was also a dire watch.
A very good win against a Coventry team who have made a very good start to the season.
I listened to the podcast this morning and they were talking about who misses out when Mitchell comes in.
The thinking seemed to be either Pitule or Raska. No mention of Connolly, even though he's currently only got 2 assists and 0 goals from 8 games. At some point he has to come into the conversation if things don't start to improve.

Plus tonight, 2 unnecessary penalties late on.Doom wrote: ↑Sun Oct 02, 2022 8:22 pmA very good win against a Coventry team who have made a very good start to the season.

Whilst I expected a win, it sounds like it was a hard fought one which is a good sign.raetiamann wrote: ↑Sun Oct 02, 2022 8:08 pmMake no mistake, that was a fabulous win, despite our indiscipline in the 3rd. I thought it was also a dire watch.
I’ve found all games that I’ve watched so far pretty non entertaining if I’m honest. However I also think the EIHL as a whole has gone backwards from a quality point of view. Perhaps reduced budgets may be at play?
Could be a valuable 2 points come the end of the season games like these.

He was always a risk from re-signing. The club can’t afford to keep him any longer than another 3-4 games imo goals shortage will be our downfall this season.

Beginning to have some confidence in this team.
Lets see what Mason Mitchell brings.
On a separate note, who edits the EIHL webpage ?
its clear they don't like the Steelers.
Tonight its got "Steelers Edge Blaze" , "Steelers Edge Panthers in Cup" BUT also "Panthers power past Stars" pretty biased i'd say.
Not just tonight, its consistent throughout the year.

I’d say that two one goal games could be edging and winning by four could be powering past the oppositionekt wrote: ↑Sun Oct 02, 2022 9:05 pmBeginning to have some confidence in this team.

Steelers scores were 3-2 and 2-1 which is edging past the opponents, whereas a 6-2 win indicates they were powered past…..so maybe if there are other instances fair enough but on that example I’d say they are fair summary’s based on the score lines

Conns should well be in the mix for riding the pine but his persona, popularity and previous form seems likely to give him a get put of jail card at the moment. With the Mosey injury is it not currently a moot point anyway? Should be on fourth line at best.
I'm surprised Raska name came up, he's been doing ok creatively just missing some end product at the mo but I think that will come.
We certainly need to ramp up the general offence but also our pp, hasn't that been woeful over the weekend?

Dire watch last nights game, but the ice was appalling! it was very much like ours was a few years ago before they sorted the piping issues, I think that was the main issue for the poor flow to the game.
Great win thou under the circumstance's!
Connolly's performance's has to be questioned after the late penalties he took! A player of his experience shouldn't be taking stupid penalties like he did and that late in the game, luckily for us and him we got away with it but next time we might not!!!
