Ciampini and Raska the 2 scorers. Greenfield stops the 4 ps he faced

Apart from the first 10 minutes, that was utter dominance

Far too early to make judgements yet, won’t know much until the Cardiff game

Well apart from the 1st period, we played well for game 1. First impressions are that we have got a proper number 1 D man in Petgrave. Greenfield looks very solid. Raska potentially another Latal. No standout shockers so all in all pretty good start.

Greenfield the difference there, definitely number 1 calm shutout for 2 periods and a shootout!!! Excellent puck positioning and reactions to send Latal down ice.

Ciampini quality playmaker need to see more shots from him
Raska excellent on the power play
Petgrave made a few errors defensively but going forward he’s top notch

Neumann how many offsides?
Allen good in front of net
Faceoffs got better through the 2nd and 3rd with Dowdy stepping in for a few.
Ostlund yes shouldn’t of been left out to dry but still should of done better on one or two of them looking through the replay

Overall it’s early days but look promising Raska Ciampini are going to be good.

Edit Raska down ice

A cracking friendly game which both teams can take a lot away from.

Overall I thought we were the better team and probably deserved the win.

Positives:

Special Teams - We were outstanding
Petgrave - Looks very good
Greenfield - wasn't left as exposed, but looked outstanding.
Raska - Looks very skilled

Negatives:

Faceoffs - we need to be much better
Defence - I really felt for our netty, because our defence in the 1st was shocking.

Early days, but I hope to see more from Neumann.

More positives than negatives for me, but of course we don't know yet how Notts match up with Belfast.

Would have loved Hammond as a Steeler.

A good fightback old steelers style. Greenfield had a great half , very mobile and never looked like conceding in the shoot out . Petgrave, Raska and Ciampini also impressed among the new boys. Ciampini 's shoot out goal was taken like a very confident player.
As someone has said though we don't know how good the opposition are yet. Belfast's two wins over Cardiff in friendlies suggest they will still be a massive obstacle to overcome. It was scrappy at times tonight on both sides but our powerplay was the difference.
P.S If we were playing for the GM as GM Trophy , …where is it ?
