Exhibition games pre-sale tickets

For me it was badly managed, I logged in to buy the tickets - saw they were full priced and decided I wasn’t going to buy any of them.
The fact Coventry is an £8 game is immaterial I made my decision based on the Nottingham price.
I don’t feel I am missing out.
Whilst I enjoy the Hockey the ‘off ice’ announcements and music annoy me and detract from the experience - but maybe the new Tron will make everything better.

We had booked the preseason game by now last year. It's a game we really look forward to, getting first sight of the team.

This year we're waiting.

The cost is way too high. Ordinarily, we'd book 2 adults and 2 children. If we do go, one of us will take the kids and one stay at home as it's too much. (Although if the cost for 2 adults and 2 kids was the same as 1 adult and 2 kids, probably all 4 of us would go)

Like everyone else, we're having to watch our spending and, with all other essential outgoings increasing, discretionary spend (such as sporting events) is being squeezed.

Companies just passing on their increased costs to customers who are facing the same increased costs leads to reduced revenue for those companies.

In the case of an exhibition game, cost becomes even more important. Something like £10 / £8 would lead to double the crowd and the same revenue, but with a great atmosphere and building goodwill between fans and the club.

I agree.. if the panthers game had been priced at £8 too then we would be going to both games and therefore receiving double the amount of money from us has they will now. Why is a Sunday game against the Panthers worth more than a Saturday game against the Blaze..?

Because Steelers v Panthers is obviously the biggest rivalry in the whole ice hockey world. We’ve only got to play each other another 86 times this season.

On a serious note I can’t go to the Panthers game anyway but wouldn’t be paying the price they are charging.

Seems like all the club want at the minute is extra money off the fans for everything. Another example is a box at the arena. A few years ago it was £350 now this season they are charging £475 which is a ridiculous increase. I was going to book one for my wife’s birthday but we will probably go away for a few days instead.

£21.50 for a pre-season game against a team we will face numerous times over the normal season has got to be a bit of an unfunny joke to be honest.

I certainly wouldn't pay that price if I was still living in South Yorkshire. I can't understand the logic behind charging the price, it smacks of greed.

Hockey is no longer becoming the cheapest night out. It's all about making as much ££££'s as you can, pre and during the season.

We, as a family, would have booked this game but the cost for a pre season friendly is too high. We would be 2 adult concessions & 3 full paying adults. If there’s a webcast we will get that and have a family barbecue and ask a couple of hockey friends, if no webcast we will have a family barbecue.

I pretty much echo what everyone else has said.

I won't be attending many full-price games at all, the entire season. My new work schedule is sporadic working 4 on 4 off, 12 hours which every other month will mean i miss the games regardless.
But as one of my buddies was saying.. after ticket prices, petrol price + parking prices (or train fares + a few drinks), you're talking £50 per person for one game and not everyone can afford that in the current climate.
We've decided to take it in turns at each others houses, (4 of us in total with partners) and to share the price of webcasts of games we'll be able to catch.
We'll go to a few games no doubt, but it won't be every weekend like we had been doing over the last 5-6 years.

If the playoff final weekend was so poorly attended, how do they expect a big crowd for a meaningless pre season game at those prices in this economic climate? People are having to cut their cloth accordingly, as has been mentioned on another post, more revenue would have been taken by getting more people by charging the same price as the Coventry game.
