You've got a great developing D-Man here, we're as baffled as we are gutted at him leaving the Clan. :( That's all the Clan players signed prior to Neilson coming in now forced out the door via relegation to either the 4th line, or dropped out the match night roster when spared allowed. Very petty and unprofessional way to move players on IMO, he'll need to back it up with a Finals weekend appearance now, all "his guys" at the Clan, no excuses left.
Reece Kelly is a model professional kind of guy who just quietly gets on with his job, with more training and encouragement I can see him being a very solid two-way Defenceman.

Happy with this. Probably the best British D under the age of 25 at the moment (although Hazeldine at Coventry probably pushing for that too).
Definitely take that, especially with a view on next season as well

Very pleased to see this signing, because we never really replaced Sam Jones and we do need to look post Dowd regarding our British players.
Not that I think Dowd is nearly done, I'm sure he has a few more seasons in him, but we do need to plan for the future.
I can't say I know anything about Kelly, so I'll bow to the knowledge of Disco Ray who will have seen his development and seems to rate him highly.....that's good enough for me.
Interesting to see what Fox does for the rest of the season, because if Kelly does come in and play we'll have 2 surplus import d.
Tansey back as a forward?

Fox hinted that Tansey potentially will step in as a forward. So could mean gives the Dogs Fin/IBN for rest of the year, we slot in Kelly and Tansey plays wing. Would mean potentially 2 imports on the 4th line - let big Kev play as the F1 lining up some big hits on the forecheck!Doom wrote: ↑Mon Feb 17, 2025 5:00 pmVery pleased to see this signing, because we never really replaced Sam Jones and we do need to look post Dowd regarding our British players.

Welcome to Sheffield Reece.
Always good to hear fans of his previous teams provide a glowing reference for new signings.
Hope we get to see quite a bit of him during the remainder of the season.
Whilst I don't agree with the home grown rule, it's good to see we've picked up a younger Brit.
As for Huhtamma, I guess we'll see him in Nottingham?

I was having a look at our stats last night and it certainly looks like the injury to Greenfield has cost us a tilt at the title.
As far as I can work out, with Greenfield in goal we have 58 points from 36 games (1.56 points/game).
With our backups in goal we have 2 points from 5 games (0.4 points/game).
To be fair, I think the game De Filippo lost, he was probably playing with an injury.
The CHL injuries certainly have proved very costly.
