Having seen the video of Ulett ( Storm ) slashing and then cross checking a Devils player who was already on the floor I'm expecting a major ban incoming. https://x.com/i/status/1839930768102920446

Three game ban for Ulett

Think he got off lightly, three offences here, slashing , cross checking and fighting, all three with a defenceless player laid on the ice who was not a willing participant and the fighting continuing while the officials were trying to restrain him, could easily have been 3+3+3.

Unfortunately it was always going to happen, shame the refs didn't do anything about the incident that lead to the retaliation from him

DOPS explained that they thought he embellished it, to gain a penalty...

Ciampini is an experienced player, wears a letter, but frequently takes stupid penalties. This one was his worst yet, I dont think the hit on him was as bad as he felt. He was milking it, his reaction was reckless and dangerous. Well deserved ban, I have no problem with it at all.

I do think there is a milking it, embellishment, football like mentality creeping in to uk hockey and I don't like it.

No doubt he deserves the ban, I will welcome him Back however, hell of a player and will be missed from the team, maybe this will calm him down a bit and a word from Fox maybe incoming too..

A cross check is a penalty whether embellished or not, they can always call an unsportsmanlike for it if they wish. The player checked by Ciampini also embellished it, this was clearly visible on the video from behind the goal. Embellishment does not invalidate the original offence, call them both for cross checking AND embellishment and this matter is settled.

I'm also not comfortable with the length of the ban putting it in the same category as the outright assault by Ulett in an earlier game, these incidents are miles apart, one is an almost instinctive reaction to a cross check, the other a pre-meditated assault.
