Hi all,
I'm just looking at potential going to Belfast for the double header in April as it's my sons 21st, I've never been to Belfast before so wanted to know where most of the travelling fans would stay hotel wise and also how people get across whether that be flight or ferry.
Any help and opinions would be greatly appreciated as I says I'm new to going over there.
5 people going 4 x adult 1 x 16 year old.
Also do the steelers offer any sort of package do we know?

The supporters club run a coach + ferry to Belfast.
We went about 8 years ago and flew from East Midlands airport though. Very easy journey as it's a domestic flight.

We stayed at the Premier Inn right next to their arena. As a bonus the Steelers team stayed there too so we got to chat with a couple of players at the breakfast buffet. Our daughter was too young to take to a post game pub though, so we went for a Pizza after the game.

In the daytime we did the open top bus tour and the Titanic Centre (next to the hotel basically). There's plenty to see and do.

Travel wise, you could take the ferry from Birkenhead direct to Belfast but be aware it is an eight hour journey.

Otherwise there are direct flights into Belfast from most UK airports such as Leeds/Bradford, Manchester, Liverpool John Lennon, East Midlands. Belfast has two airports though: International (Aldergrove) which takes 45 minutes to get into city centre on bus or George Best City Airport (10-15 minutes to city centre on bus)

There are plenty of hotels here for you. Three Premier Inn hotels, one as mentioned at the side of the arena, plus others. If you need more options, let me know as I live here these days. Also lots of things to do outside of the hockey.

Just a note on accommodation, we have stayed in airb&b accomodation in the university area and by the river, both were excellent and very easy to get to the arena. We had a car thou hired it from the airport, gave us a chance of visiting the area, particularly the coastal road to the Giants Causeway and the Strangford Lough.

Also check out the Airbnb in the apartments next to the arena, that would be a good choice. I'm a Giants supporter from Belfast so if you want any other info or help let me know.
