As posted on the other thread, looks a proper 1st line guy.

Very happy with this, another in a similar vein please!

No complaints from me these are the type of signings I want to see at Sheffield,if it doesn’t work out at least the club have tried their best you can’t ask for much more. ECHL all star along with other great personal accolades he will be a very good player no doubt.

Quality signing! And one we only got because of the uni deal with Hallam.

This is certainly the caliber of player we all want in a 1C - excited to see what he can do!

He's the kind of player Belfast would sign and we'd be left asking: How have they managed to signed him?

Welcome to Sheffield Patrick.

Really looking forward to seeing him play.

@crackityjones has summed it up for me. :thumb:

@Doom will be pleased to hear that we wouldn't have been able to sign him without (listening to Fox's interview) the one year Uni deal that's in place :Smiled:

I'm glad somebody can remember my posts.

This signing today is exactly the sort of player we should be trying to attract with the Uni course, not some broken has been netminder.

I think it's one of the reasons Belfast have had an edge and also why Coventry were able to dominate against the arena clubs.

Of course we need to make sure guys aren't just here for their education package, but that's up to the coach to get the right characters.

I've just read the following in The Star:

Smith says they landed him chiefly because of the new deal they have with Hallam.

"We worked hard in the Summer to do what Belfast has done to get these places available, and we don't actually need all the places Hallam offered this year.

"We have got two places at Sheffield and four with Hallam, so we were very pleased with that."

Another University place awaits another potential top-line import forward, who is considering his options on whether to accept or not.

It sounds promising.

Regards

Doom

They need using properly like this.

Could we also use them as an incentive to offer for players who prove themselves here first too? I know some players earned them with us in the past too.

Doubt there'd be anything to stop that, as should just mean they will be on a slightly different visa for that season
