No, but only because I don't have enough anti-depressants to listen to that brummie voice over the PA system for a couple of hours. Robert Dowd has been an absolute legend for us on and off the ice, this game has been well earned and I wish him the very best and thank him for all his efforts. Hopefully there will be a few more seasons in him yet.

Hope he gets a great attendance, very well deserved for his loyalty and great service to our club so far.

I would expect Dowdy will be the natural successor to Jono for our captain for next season onwards.

I can put up with it for tonight. Tbf the open training night wasn't too bad.
The PA system is awful so it came across as a rumbling indecipherable noise rather than anything coherent.

We're really enjoying it. CBW had a cracking shot ping off the bar. Fox looks good.

Not happy they are auctioning off the jerseys - goes to those with loads of money and makes them unavailable to a lot of fans.

It's always been the case.

We got Phil Hills. Top bloke he is too.

Dowds jersey went for £1250 !

Well deserved night for Robert, a Steelers legend. Didn't make it to the event but glad he had a decent turnout.
I can understand them auctioning the shirts to make more money but can't say I like it. Not everyone has that much disposable cash to throw around.

Hopefully Dowdy will get a substantial cut of the shirt auction proceeds. Not sure how modern testimonial games work these days?

Whilst hockey is my favourite sport and even if I had the sort of disposable income, there is no way I would be buying anyone's shirt at over £1,000.

Everyone to their own of course.

Thoroughly deserved.

To give a bit of context, I recently won a Mohammed Ali signed glove and pictures, all framed and certified for the 70’s. Cost me over £1k. Similar are being sold for much more than that on the internet.

Baffles me how someone can pay £1k for a local players hockey jersey 😳😳😳
