Just seen on Steelers twitter that this game is now sold out!

Not sure I'd have expected a Guildford game to be sold out but at £8 a ticket it's certainly done the trick, plus a very important game as well.

Well done everyone!

Stream for me then :D

Great effort, as I posted before Xmas this is so important, this momentum. Keep pushing.

It is a brilliant effort indeed. 2 x official sell outs in one season is fantastic.

I also posted that I thought that while ticket prices are not at £8 or normal prices in other words, I don’t believe we’ll see many sell outs other than on Boxing Day.

Still, an amazing achievement for the club.

As for the game. 4-2 win for the Steelers.

A great effort by all involved and it certainly adds to the match night experience.

My friend who lives in York brought his family down to watch the game against Manchester at Christmas and the kids all loved it.

I've no idea if they paid full price for the tickets, but they went back home with a car full of foam fingers and Steelers caps, which all adds to the clubs coffers.

They're coming down on Saturday again with the kids, so hopefully they'll have another good experience.

I'm sure it wouldn't be the same in a half empty arena.

Weirdly our normal seats in 120 didn't go on sale for this game, entire block was greyed out, 220 was the same. I enquired why more than once and was ignored. I wasn't sure if they had just filled both block with freebies or just not sold them at all.

Disapointed this game was taken off the season ticket (despite them claining it was always £8) as extra expense just after Christmas isn't ideal so the combination of the 2 means we're giving this one a miss.

You and I both know it's nothing like as good when half empty, they can make up much of the difference from discount tickets with 50/50 and SOYB sales, a little like Manchester used to do in the MEN Arena when the team was owned by the Arena owners and used the secondary spend to compensate for low ticket prices.

It’s still brilliant to hear that there’s a pull for new fans and especially the kids as at the end of the day they’re the new generation of paying fans of the future. I think the club has got the off ice match experience pretty much spot on.

One of my pals has a 6 year old and a 14 year old. They all love it, but can’t afford to come regularly due to it costing as he put it a £100 night with the food 50/50 and full price tickets etc. They’re not able to attend the mid-week £8 games.

A near or full arena will certainly make it more enjoyable than a half empty one, but I would argue that I’ve heard better atmospheres with 4,500 people in than a full arena. The Boxing Day games I feel are generally flat and lacking in atmosphere despite it being full.

Not trying to be negative and it is really brilliant that we’ve had another sell out, but that doesn’t always equal an amazing atmosphere in my experience.

I would also argue that historically we don’t always play well in front of a sell out and the games can be a bit drab to watch.

In other words give me a half full arena with a barnstorming game than a full uneventful sell out.
