Scott Allen Signing-rumour confirmed

Great signing imo and looks like a decent replacement for Armstrong. Aaron sees him has a power forward with above average skating for his size, that can play both centre or wing also adding the numbers.

He looks a decent addition who should offer something a bit different in terms of size and net presence.

I can't see him putting up big numbers, but based on his time in DEL 2 I would guess he'll score in the low 20's. He's also got decent +/- stats, so he should be responsible defensively as well.

I wonder where Foxy has him pencilled in.....centre or wing?.....1st, 2nd or even 3rd line?

Regards

Get the feeling he's going to be a proper player for us! Looking forward to seeing him.

If he is half as good as the last power Forward named Scott then he will do for me... :wonder: Allen is close to Alison too lol especially if you say it fast in the arena :embarassed:

Like the sound of this guy, don't think we've had a proper net front player after Roy?

Hopefully he gets 20+ for us at least, I think he will start on the LW and can move to center when needed, sounds like he's decent at faceoffs too.

Also been compared to Desbiens and Marquardt after speaking with Pete Spencer so maybe a bit of physicality in his game too as the power forward role.

Sounds like Fox has signed a couple of other big bodies for this season, which I think will please many as we have been extremely fast since Fox's arrival but maybe have lacked a bit of size and a plan B as well?

He’s got good experience, and has a proven record of point scoring at good European standards as both a finisher and a provider.

Nice size at 6”3”, I’m hoping he’s going to be as effective as Armstrong was when he first came in.

Be interesting to see how capable he is defensively, at his size he may be an attribute on the PK with his stick.

Welcome to Sheffield Scott, sounds like a very good addition to our team, also a huge shout out to Evan Mosey who put a few words in his ears that Steelers is the place to be.

I make that 4 signings left to be announced....

I missed this announcement. I'm wondering if it's because I didn't get the "set your alarm for 6am" message?

Only joking.
Welcome to Steelerland Scott. Hope we all enjoy the ride.

Welcome to Sheffield Scott.

Enjoyed listening to his interview with Pete Spencer. Great to hear that he likes to stand in front of the net on the PP. I think that can make a big difference, plus there aren’t many defenders these days that are bothered about clearing the front of the net.

Only slight concern would be the small concussion he said he got last season. Hopefully he’s 100% and ready to go.
