Away Games

I originally wanted to make one thread covering the shop / away tickets but I thought it would confuse the threads / get lost in how people would reply. So I thought I'd make a new one. Apologies if I shouldn't have done this.
Next weekend me and the wife are considering going going down to Harry Potter World and then catching the Panthers game on the way home. However, looking at the Panthers website, the venue info looks confusing as it shows 7 blocks that is designated for away fans but states "Black blocks are designated for away fans, however these will be sold to home fans if the oppositions allocation is not required".
So what would be the safest block to opt for if I was wanting to be around other Steelers fans? Would it be the block they designate the noisy block?
Also, for those that travel away, are most arenas like this? I know Steelers offer one block specifically, so wonder how many others are like Steelers.
This is the first away game I have ever looked at, so apologies if it seems like a silly question.

Hi Mark, as a fellow town fan since 89 and steelers fan since 08/09 the first mistake I made was to link the two sports supporters wise. It’s ideal to sit with your own fans but if you end up not sat directly with your “own” fans it is not the same issue as it is with footy. Aim for the “away” blocks but also factor in the view you would prefer also. If you end up in more of a home area it is not the same level of a problem than if an opposing fan ends up in the bottom corner of the riverside etc….

Block 1 and 2 are steelers blocks in nottingham - block 3 is a mixed block
I always sit block 2 at the back. Great view

I have seen someone walking around the arena in a Town shirt when I've been, I wonder if that was you? I think football is one of a kind, as out of all the sports I have seen live, non other is like Football where you feel the need for segregation.

Thanks for that, I will have a look in those blocks, and see if I can get near the back

Nottingham arena is a great place to watch hockey.
The PA system is vastly superior to ours also.

Funny about the PA system. I can never make out when we score who the scorer is when they announce it.

Nottingham's PA system is very poor in comparison to ours!! lots on our forum and on other forums say our PA system is too loud!! in Nottingham its really difficult to pick the wording from block 1-3.

Unless Panthers score then it’s crystal clear

Probably because we are all jumping around and cheering, which to be fair we get to do a lot in that Arena. Somebody suggested we had won more trophies there than they had, not sure if still true but I know they are the masters of the silent fire drill evacuation in the last 5 minutes of a game.
