Whilst I'm very much looking forward to my first visit to the arena for over 2 years, I really can't see where we will get a result here.

In my experience, banner raising nights don't tend to go well with a positive result.

Cardiff are well ahead of us from a game ready point of view and raising the banner in front of them will give them even more motivation.

4-2 Cardiff.

I never understand banner raising nights when we play a decent team because they always go wrong! The Devils are way ahead of us on fitness, systems and game time. We are behind the eight ball and unless Todd, Hodgman are back in the fold, Brust in net, then we could really struggle.

Unfortunately this particular game is a little bit too early in the season for us.

Cardiff have a huge advantage in the amount of preparation they've had to date, so have to be big favourites to win this one, but hopefully the next time we meet we'll be fully up to speed.

Having said that, if we go into it relatively injury free, I do think we have a better squad on paper, so hopefully that can bridge the gap in preparation between the two teams.

Big bad Barry for man of the match?

I think Cardiff probably take this by 1 goal, but you never know.

Would be some result to get anything from this, too much too soon in my opinion.

Cardiff have had the CHL plus exhibition games and offer a much more physical test.

Luckily sounds like all our injuries were precautionary so we’ll have a fully fit & available roster.

But if the banner is going to be raised when will it be moved to the concourse outside the women's toilets?

Probably after the game when everyone has gone home.
Hockey fan since 1980, Steeler since day one.

Banner raising will be hugely motivational for Cardiff. Smacks of rubbing their nose in it. I understand why, being the first home game other than a pre season but I can only see this going one way. Please prove me wrong Steelers.

I think Cardiff will be motivated anyway even this early in the schedule.

If we lose tonight it won't be because of a piece of cloth being hung up 20 feet in the air by wires, it'll be because we were 2nd best.

We'll see...

There doesn't appear to be a live stream today. Does anyone know if you can just buy the one game on Premier Sports?? TIA
