An imaginative pre-season apart from us playing EIHL sides who we only play 600 times a year! :asleep:

Only 3 games, with one at home, is unusual for us. Seems season by season our pre-season gets less and less. Suppose can treat challenge Cup as preseason with the way it is set up.

With the CC taking priority in the early part of the season, I think a 3 game pre-season is fine.

I wouldn't want a 7 game pre-season like Cardiff, because that gives a higher risk of picking up injuries before the real action starts.

I’m quite happy with a relatively short pre-season especially with the CC taking most of the early season games.

My point is, it would be nice to play some European sides like most other EIHL sides have. I’m far more likely to watch a game against different opponents than yet another game against an EIHL side, where my money will stay firmly in my pockets.

@Doom , I think the greatest coach of all time might disagree with your point on having a longer game pre-season…..

And just a little quote from the top coach in the above article…..”I like the fact that we have four weeks and seven games within that time, as you can cover a lot of things.”

Should hit the ground running then eh Paul ;)

Game On

No big deal with 3 games, as said challenge cup games to be used for getting up to speed and so giving them a bit more importance to team as opposed to playing what seems an endless amount games in challenge cup to qualify for finals,,,

I wasn't sure if this was the right place for this, but as it's pre-season related, it seemed to fit.

Can anyone explain to me the logic behind this....

https://www.eliteleague.co.uk/article/4 ... pre-season

It reads to me that due to the cancelled pre-season games for Fife, that they are using two challenge cup games as 'pre-season' games, so basically practice games with no actual points available.

However, the games they've chosen are a few games into the season and Dundee will have played two competitive games before the first 'pre-season', and 8 (including that game), before the 2nd 'pre-season' game - a similar number for Fife.

Or am I being thick and mis-understanding what they're doing?
