It’s the same on all the forums lol me personally if we’re playing well I haven’t much to say I’m happy so to speak but come a dark cloud or two then there’s hell to pay its only passion JanBandanajan26 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 13, 2022 8:30 amWhy is it that when we lose, as we did Friday, there are 8 pages of comments on the game thread. Last night we played really well and won and we only get 6 pages…..

The response last night was a massive push back by the boys. They had a determination that was missing on Friday night and credit to them and to the coaching team that lifted them and made them believe in themselves.
If nothing else I thank them for reducing the assault on my ears by the screaming Banshee that is one of the Belfast’s commentators. Thank goodness the other has a more balanced view of the games.

I've wondered that a few times, maybe it needs more people to contribute in general.. those that mainly read the forum and rarely comment I presume dont feel the need to say how well we played. if we dont play well it is hard not to have a feeling that things could have been done differently, and therefore have a stronger opinion..Bandanajan26 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 13, 2022 8:30 amWhy is it that when we lose, as we did Friday, there are 8 pages of comments on the game thread. I will put my hand up and say my prediction was bleak for this weekend ! but the boys did good! special mention to Jones and Whistle for their performances and to ASD for stabilizing our leaky defence.
Onwards and upwards now to winning this league!
Any news on Mosey? he looked in a bad way when limping off in the first game, hope its not long term.
Best bit for me last night watching the live stream, was how the croaky comentator suddenly changed his comments when the Steelers got on top of the Giants, he suddenly started to question all the calls against the Giants!! Can someone please tell the camera/person to stop wobbling the camera!!! It was bad enough trying to watch the picture out of focus or not on the play without vibrating too!!

Having seen the highlights, was clear to see that they upped the physicality, and that the effort, grit and determination was there. I dont think it's unfair to say they've been below par on that front for a few good months as some have felt and mentioned on here. I dont think its any coincidence that raising the levels of these that the performance and result correspondingly improved . Now we've just got to find a way to keep that going.

Great result, fantastic fight last night, had a feeling it would be a split weekend & I was right, just so happens I said we would win Friday night but lose Saturday but either way I'll take what's happened, we just have to keep the pressure on, it's going to boil down to the games vs Belfast & the Cardiff away game.
Well played last night boys, top effort, they wont throw this title fight away, they'll still fight till the end.
P.S great to have Vallerand back this weekend, he's been a huge miss.

A hooking
A tripping
Puck leaving the D zone and played back in with Belfast getting a shot on goal.
Were there missed calls for that should have gone in Giants favour?
Just trying to gauge reporting bias or not.

Didn't watch Friday's game but followed it on Twitter and watched Saturday's webcast. Excellent game, performance and result with a proper gutsy road performance especially after Friday's result and our recent form and poor results. We looked really up for it from the start, which is obviously what we expect every game but it was good to see that we can pull that type of performance out of the bag when we are up against it and need it most. This being even more important after our last "big" game being the shocking semi-final display against the Devils.
Thought our tenacity on the puck and in puck and board battles was especially high, love to see everyone buying into that forwards and D - everyone had a good game through out the lineup, I thought Feldner was impressive on the forecheck he managed to force the Giants into coughing up the puck in their zone a few times. Good to see us adapt with a more physical style of play which both the Giants and Devils have tested us with and show that we can be successful with that style. Thought Ellerby was immense, he's copped for a lot of comment on social media but I thought he had real presence and was taking the body and being physical as we all hoped when he was signed.
We took our chances well when they came, which seemed to be the major difference between the teams on Friday night. Good to see Eberle & Armstrong bag one felt like they needed that and thought Armstrong had one of his best games of the season, seemed to win a lot of vital face-offs especially as the Giants piled it on at the end. Whistle and ASD who came into the lineup were excellent as well, the goal from Whistle assisted by ASD was a thing of beauty.
Hopefully now we can build on this momentum, stay fit (obviously Mosey picked up something on Friday) and string some wins together. Lots of hockey still to be played for both teams, the remaining 3 games against each other are sure to be intense play off style, bring it on, an exciting end to the season and both teams still in striking distance of lifting the trophy, but we definitely needed this win and performance to stay in the hunt and show that our dip in form and results was exactly just that.
