Fox confirms departure of Mosey in his latest interview with Pete Spencer.
Mosey 34, Davey 35, Jonno 40. Gonna be younger team.

Pleased to see Graham sign and Mosey leave.

Graham is still a long way from being an import quality Brit, but he has all the attributes to get there if his attitude is right.

I remember at the start of our Grandslam season the one signing I questioned was Longstaff. He spent the summer training and building himself up physically and when he came back he was a monster.....the rest is history.

Graham reminds me a bit of Longstaff, he has the size and the skill, he just needs to work hard and develop certain areas of his game, mainly speed, and he could turn into a top level EIHL player.

Regarding Mosey, I wasn't impressed when we originally signed him, but he proved me wrong and had a very good first season. Last season though I thought he was poor and sat at the bottom of our +/-. I suspect he's lost a yard of speed and for a player like him that is crucial.

With 15 imports this season I'm very happy if our Brit core is:

Dowd
Whistle
Graham
Jones
Netminder

We don't have a top import quality Brit like Conway, but that is a very solid core to work with.

Regards

Bringing in a high scorer from our league......a player they've seen and know works at this level......looks like good business.

Also strongly rumoured to have signed Tedesco, who was second top points scorer in our league last season.....that would be another very safe signing.

I've also seen a rumour that they're after Yushiroh Hirano, who looks another potential 25+ goal scorer.

I hope Fox has some serious talent lined up and I don't mean guys who were top of their game 10 years ago.

Regards

Completely agree about Mosey. Was said last year, we don't sign enough guys with big numbers in the G Column in their stat history. We need to find 2 or 3 of those guys.
With the Barriga confirmed and Tedesco rumoured Giants signing makes me wonder what happened to us being able to recruit high end performers from other eihl teams? We used to do that very success but not so much now. Is if because Fox doesn't like that strategy?

Or is it because players don’t want to sign with a mid table team?? Which for the last couple of seasons the Steelers have been

Well third is not really mid table, but I do agree that finding younger players who have proved they can score in the elite league is a good strategy.

Brian, I thought you'd been around long enough to recall the days when 2nd place was seen as mid table.
