Game over & it's a split weekend.
Steelers 2-3 Belfast
Steelers 2-3 Belfast
Well I really thought we’d pull that back.
Have to say I was very disappointed with our play today. Lots of huffing and puffing with no real quality.
Belfast are missing some very good players (Cooper and Rein) and that would probably be the best chance to take all 4 points here. I would have been happy with 3 points.
Just about par for the weekend. Bigger crowd today than yesterday too.

This slow start to the first period is fast becoming a defining feature of this team. Fox needs to get a grip on things. Often we get away with it but against a side of the Giant’s quality it is fatal

Opportunity lost tonight.
I know Whistle stood on his head but against a tired team playing only 3 forward lines we could have took a full haul.
Also I know we're not supposed to have opinions and I know he's one of the organisations big shirt sellers but Petgrave is really winding me up atm.
Thought Neumann was very good tonight though .

I don't like how we seem to be getting bullied by a lot of the teams, yes we might not have a Colt King or Zack Fitzgerald in our line up but it looks like our guys are on a lead the last few matches I've seen, Mitchell looks to me like he wants to get rough with a few but other than that I can't see anyone else willing to step up, Petgrave keeps getting things done to him but then doesn't do anything back, is it through fear or Dops or just our management structure doesn't like it? We also need to halt this early flow of goals against us, always an up hill battle to then bring it back especially against teams like Belfast
Listening to the podcast, I reckon Fearnley watches a different game than me. One of the reasons we’ve not won a league title since Paul Thompson is with relaxed attitudes like our official off ice team that don’t appear to be worried about losing to our nearest title rivals. I’m not happy with a split weekend against a short benched team. Not good enough. Even Simms was disappointed.
Play was sloppy and we had a huuuuuge opportunity to beat a short benched team. They had a job to cobble 3 lines together, in fact Keefe said they had to draft 2 players from MK Lightening. I watched our players skating out during the long intro and very few skated out with any energy. I also worry about Latal. No where near the same player as last season. He’s already hinted on a previous podcast that this could be his last season. Wonder if he’s dropped his intensity?
I do think there’s a leash on the players for the rough stuff. Being physical wears an already tired team down. We simply don’t do it.
Opportunity missed for us I think this weekend.
Guildford are the winners from this weekend.

Steelers had enough chances especially with seven powerplays, one back to back they seemed to have no clue how to break down the Giants defence just did the same thing all through the game continual cycling, perhaps they were trying to make them dizzy
